Rand Paul's SPECTACULAR and IMMMEDIATE Crash And Burn!!!!!!!!
Edited on Fri May-21-10 09:51 AM by Beetwasher
It's truly sublime. I've never seen anything like it. Sarah Palin's got absolutely nothing on this guy. He barely won the primary and is just gulping down hand grenades and blowing his putrid flesh all over the media. Blood and guts everywhere. He's radioactive toast and he's barely an eyelash out of the gate.

On top of his blatant racism, waved around for everyone to see, we now have this, immediately on it's heels:

Rand Paul whines: "Where is my honeymoon?"

http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2010/5/21/868491/-Rand-Paul-whines:-Where-is-my-honeymoon

"When does my honeymoon period start? I had a big victory," Paul told George Stephanopoulos on "Good Morning America" today. "I've just been trashed up and down and they have been saying things that are untrue. And when they say I'm for repealing the Civil Rights Act, it's absolutely false. It's never been my position and something that I basically just think is politics."

WAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This, my god, this. This is straight out of Kafka. It's wonderous in it's abject, vile, grandiose stupidity wrapped in bizarrely warped jingoism:

"What I don't like from the president's administration is this sort of, 'I'll put my boot heel on the throat of BP.' I think that sounds really un-American in his criticism of business," he said. "I've heard nothing from BP about not paying for the spill. And I think it's part of this sort of blame game society in the sense that it's always got to be someone's fault instead of the fact that sometimes accidents happen."

But Obama DIDN'T say, "I'll put my boot heel on the throat of BP"? Keep up the good work, Rand!

P.S. By the way, Gorgeous George, when are you having Jack Conway on?

P.P.S. Here's where you can contribute to Rand's opponent Jack Conway and Blanche Lincoln's opponent Bill Halter, even if you don't live in their states.

Edited on Fri May-21-10 10:51 AM by calimary
Why does he think he's "ENTITLED" to a honeymoon period?

THERE IT IS AGAIN, folks! Or as our darling st. ronnie used to say - "there you go again!"

He thinks he's ENTITLED!

THIS is "The World's Biggest Entitlement Program." It's the name of the deeply-felt death-grip attitude among CONservatives that they're simply ENTITLED to rule. They're just, well, better, that's all. No further explanations required. That's just how it is! It's their due, their birthright. The White House and Capitol Hill and every statehouse in the nation - is rightfully THEIRS. And how dare anyone else aspire to deprive them of THEIR PRECIOUS BIRTHRIGHT?!?!?!?!?!?! Particularly when they go evangelistic (which they invariably tend to do) and claim that God decreed this. So that makes it not just your average garden-variety right, but a Divine Right. THAT attitude allows you to regard such little nuisances as the Constitution of the United States of America as "just a goddamn piece of paper." Not even the Constitution is supposed to stand in the way of CONservatives' divine right to rule.

Look just under the surface of ANY of these folks, and that's what you'll see fueling their ambition. Watch for it. It's there. Every time those jackasses mike pence and eric cantor and boner and the rest of 'em come out with their usual whinings and complaints about what Obama and/or the Dems are doing, but they offer nothing instead, THAT is why. They figure they really don't need to. They're just simply SUPPOSED TO BE RULING. It's the ultimate in superiority complexes! They don't need no steeeenking badges or bills or hall passes or even legitimate election victories. You're not even supposed to ask them questions about it, really, because there's nothing to ask, nothing to question, nothing to be questioned. Because it's theirs already - they figure they own it, it's their birthright, and the rest of us are just annoyances standing in the way of their rightful place at the top of the pyramid. It's what fuels that whole trickle-down thing. THEY GET THEIRS FIRST AND ONLY, and that's all that matters. Then once they've gotten theirs, all is "right" with the world because the rest will just take care of itself, then.

22. Think any of the WASP xenophobes will learn anything from his 'adventure'?
yeah, me neither.

Staying in the WASP xenobhobes' choir loft comes with some risks. The great outdoors comes as a shock many loud racists just aren't capable of surviving in the real world: America and The World does not stay on the same pages as the sheltered choir. Not everybody belongs to the Country Club, and if you keep pissing them off, somebody will spit or piss in your Wheaties.

15. What a whiny little weasel that guy is.
Edited on Fri May-21-10 10:32 AM by smoogatz
He's also a liar. Nobody ever said he favored repealing the CRA--but he does oppose those parts of the CRA that outlaw race-based discrimination in the private sector. He also opposes similar language in the Fair Housing Act, and said so himself in a 2002 letter to the Bowling Green Daily News. In Paul's own words: "Decisions concerning private property and associations should in a free society be unhindered. As a consequence, some associations will discriminate. ...A free society will abide unofficial, private discrimination – even when that means allowing hate-filled groups to exclude people based on the color of their skin."

Here's a link to the Kos piece that proves Paul is an unapologetic racist: http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2010/5/20/868312/-KY-Sen:-Rand-Paul-closes-the-case-on-himself

His allegedly libertarian views are pretty much a self-serving grab-bag of the wingnuttiest Republican ideological chestnuts: pro segregation, anti regulation, favors a constitutional amendment banning abortion (try squaring that one with actual libertarianism--it can't be done). He's a weasel and an opportunist. And yes, keep talking, Rand. Keep talking.

17. So where does he damn BP for their lack of responsibility and honesty?
"And I think it's part of this sort of blame-game society in the sense that it's always got to be somebody's fault instead of the fact that maybe sometimes accidents happen," Paul said.

BP asserted that it was ready to fix any problems that arose. But it's obvious that it didn't have fixes in place. They lied and Rand Paul says nothing about that. People died and he's just too cool about the tragedy.
