4. I'll always be proud to have lived through the early days of video games
Every time some newbie raves about some new Playstation 3 game, I just think about Tempest. Ahhh...

13. I used to own an upright version until it finally broke.
Edited on Fri May-21-10 04:43 PM by tridim
Needless to say I got pretty damn good at it.

Tempest doesn't really get exciting until the pulsar levels. The game is a pure adrenaline producer, which is probably why it was so popular with hardcore arcade people.

Defender was good for adrenaline too.

Ms. Pacman, and Pacman Jr.

I had 'em.

Till my joystick broke.

14. ^ Worst xmas present ever.
All my brothers were so dissapointed.

I still hear the Atari "munching" sound in my head and it isn't a pleasant thought.

I love video games. But the acknowledgment of Pac Man turning thirty makes me feel old.

Wow. Where has the time gone?

17. the reason I wear glasses...
I spent years cross-legged on the floor about 3 feet from a Sears clone of the Atari, although my real weakness was Pole Position.

I lost interest in video games around the time I became interested in girls, and irony of ironies decades later I am involved with a woman who is so addicted to video games it would be worthy of an episode of Intervention.

23. We had the cheesy wood laminate version
My brother was so embarrassed by it he eventually deliberately broke the power supply, at which point we got the plastic and chrome version of the 2600.
