BP swamped by criticism
Source: Reuters

(Reuters) - Anger, skepticism and accusations of lying washed over energy giant BP Plc on Friday as it desperately tried to contain a month-old seabed well leak billowing crude oil into the Gulf of Mexico.

Lawmakers and scientists have accused BP of trying to conceal what many believe is already the worst U.S. oil spill, eclipsing the 1989 Exxon Valdez accident in Alaska. It represents a potential environmental and economic catastrophe for the U.S. Gulf coast.

The London-based energy giant, facing growing federal government and public frustration and allegations of a cover-up , said its engineers were working with U.S. government scientists to determine the size of the leak, even as they fought to control the still-gushing spill with uncertain solutions.

President Barack Obama's administration kept up the pressure on BP to do everything possible to stop the leak.

note: I'm not really seeing the "desperately tried" part of BP's response, nor am I seeing the Obama administration pressure.

Not so much of either.

Prove it. You bastards can't even tell us how much oil is spilling into the gulf.

For a month BP and Govt. has said 5000 barrels.

BP just announced their "recovery" plan is siphoning off a whooping 5000 barrels a day.

The camera show almost no change in volume of oil.

Jesus, they tell us we need to be smarter and better educated and then they expect us to stupidly accept anything they say as truth.

Obama is out Bushing Bush.

3. Hey, Obama is demanding daily reports now.
Watch out, I bet in another month he'll demand charts and graphs too!

7. I hope their innards turn to spinach and rot.
I hope their blood solidifies and their brains spill out their ears.

Dear BP upper management, I wish you ill.

8. What would BP gain by not stopping the leak as soon as they
possibly can? BP made the mess, they have the best technology available to stop it, the government doesn't. What do you do send the Marines down to take over the oil rig? What the hell they going to do to stop it?

9. What they needed and lacked was the best technology to never let the leak happen in the first place.
BP has had weeks to demonstrate that they have the ability to stop the leak, and have failed to even slow it down.

Now they are just trying to cover up how bad it really is.

Stop making excuses for them. BP is a menace to the planet, and should be dealt with accordingly.

10. Actually the corporate system had decades to show what they were doing.
And we are seeing the results.

It is not just about BP, it is about the ideology behind many groups.
