2. Jack Webb, John Wayne and Ronald Reagan...

the Assholy Trinity of filmdom.
I can't remember the name of the movie, but I can recall many years ago watching Webb playing a drill sergeant who was such an raving asshole that one of his recruits killed him. I think the point of it was supposed to be that Webb's character *had* to be that way to produce tough, loyal, troops, but I remember thinking as a kid at the time 'Hell yes!'
Never could stand the guy--always reminded me of some old drunk fuck at a family reunion bitching in a snarling monotone about everybody and everything all night long.
Sorry, Jack Webb makes me rave.

3. I LOVE those old Dragnet drug shows

used to be an occasion for a...ahem...party when one was coming on as a rerun. Kinda like our own modern day ( OK, 70's anyway) Reefer Madness. Big fun to get the gang together for a few pipefulls and a grand old time watching Joe Friday lecture us about the evils of drugs.
