Quelle Surprise !!: BP is full of sh*t......
from BBC:

US oil spill: BP 'recovering less oil' than estimated
Page last updated at 21:13 GMT, Friday, 21 May 2010 22:13 UK

BP has said the amount of oil recovered from a leaking Gulf of Mexico oil well on Thursday was less than half an earlier estimate.

BP said it had siphoned 2,200 barrels in the 24-hour period to midnight on Thursday, down from an estimate of 5,000 barrels earlier in the day.

The US government has formed a team to develop a more precise estimate of the amount of oil gushing from the well.

BP will attempt to stem the oil flow next week, instead of Sunday as hoped.

The oil leak began more than a month ago, when a rig leased by BP exploded.

The spill has reached Louisiana and is threatening Florida and Cuba.

Thick, sticky oil is washing on to miles of fragile Louisiana wetlands, with brown, foul-smelling globs coating reeds and grasses.

The crude oil has been flowing since the offshore drilling rig Deepwater Horizon exploded off the coast of Louisiana on 20 April and sank two days later. .........(more)

1. Don't forget the initial reports by BP.
Day 2:"The well is NOT leaking."
Day 3:"It's only leaking a little."
Day 4:"It's leaking a little more than we thought."
Day 5:"It's leaking twice as much as we thought."

4. Additionally, there should be a ban on calling it a "leak"
My garden hose has a leak. My brakeline has a leak.

What BP has is out of control hemorrhage of gas and crude oil erupting unchecked like a volcano for over a month so far and with no end in sight.

Calling it a "leak," as the entire MSM has done from the beginning, is buying into the PR campaign, as though we're dealing with minor seepage somewhere along the pipeline.

6. Yes, but it's so hard to spell hemorrhage!
I'd pretty much rather write anything else.

2. They are better off financially adjusting down the pretend collection numbers
than having to address the pretend 'not being collected' numbers.

They looked rather stupid the other day claiming that they were picking up 5k of a 5k gusher with the webcam going 24/7.

3. Four million gallons a day - but hey - they recovered over 2,000!
From detailed info on this site - FOUR MILLION GALS ON DAY!
Purdue scientist now estimates BP #oilspill rate is 4 MILLION gallons per day based on new video of both leaks. See URL at http://tinyurl.com/2bzu2zn

7. I think there are three leaks, if you count the open end of the pipe

8. I'm not sure. My own lil
Broom is powered by sun, which has been in short supply here in California, so I haven't checked it out personally.

A friend of mine did have a dream about six weeks ago. She kept seeing the ocean, and she felt sad. And when she woke up, she heard her inner voice say, "The Ocean is dead."

She didn't know what the dream meant. Kept trying to come up with all types of symbols for "Dead Ocean." Couldn't get any of the symbols she tried out to fit and make any sense.

Now tragically she understands.
