1. Was supposed to be born close to my parents anniversary

(kind of) happy to say I wasn't.

They divorced when I was like 2 or 3.

I was born 6 weeks early.
I was born in June and ironically my dad's nickname is June.

2. Yep, planned two years after the birth of my brother. No more kids after that!

If I had been a boy, my mother might have wanted to try for a girl, but I was a girl so...

This was back in the 40s so I am very thankful that my mother had good advice on contraception (which was limited to barrier methods in the day). Luckily, my parents lived in Texas, not CT where bc was OUTLAWED until the mid 60s (with the Griswold v. CT Supreme Court case).

because dad would come home from extended TDY's and almost inevitably a pregnancy would be the result of the homecoming celebration . . .

Mom said technically my older brother and I weren't planned or a surprise. She had at least two miscarriages before us and her pregnancies were difficult so they tried to stop at two. Little brother was a surprise.

And when my grandfather came up to the States that year, the whole family had to lie to him about my age -- which wasn't easy because I came in at 8lbs in the first place.
