Bull didn't have much of a choice---did he?

Julio Aparicio, one of Spain's most famous matadors, was gored in the throat today during a bullfight. The horrific injury has left him in critical condition:

"The horn went though the tongue and penetrated the roof of the mouth, fracturing the jawbone," one of the medics who worked on Aparicio told AFP news in Madrid.



The incident took place during the Festival of Saint Isidro, considered to be the most important event in the bullfighting calendar, at the Plaza de Toros las Ventas bullring, which can seat up to 24,000 people.

The bull was injured. Look at the blood streaks down his neck and left leg.

5. The Matador was just playing with the nice bull and the bull just turned on him for no reason.
Kinda reminds me of the Unites States and the Middle East.

6. There are five spears sticking out of the bull in that picture.
The bull was dying when that photo was snapped.

14. You're not against the torture of animals done for the pleasure of the
audience watching? or because the Matador wants to show he has machismo?

If the Matador is so tough then get into the ring with no weapons at all.

16. If Spain wants to do this then so be it. I think this cultural practice will be banned in time.

There is a growing movement against bull fighting. I can understand the outrage against this practice.

But I really can't be to sure that the cow I ate last night didn't suffer before its death so I won't be getting on the soap box.

19. I'm a Vegan so I don't think I qualify as standing on a soapbox. And I've been hearing for years
how Spain will do away with bullfighting eventually, I don't believe it.
