Big Oil Executives- for profit ecological terrorists.
Edited on Sun May-23-10 10:01 AM by Union Yes
Big Oil bought government in order to self-regulate.

Then made us, 'the people' pay them in the form of government subsidies to big oil.

The corruption, the mass pollution of the air, land, AND WATER- ALL FOR PROFIT.

The corrupting influence of oil leaves us with little choice.

Nationalize fossil fuel energy.

Do it or we'll continue to regret not doing so. Do we really want to continue allowing Big Oil ecological terrorists to run our nation's energy policy?

3. It's much better for a private corporation to assume the dangers.
Edited on Sun May-23-10 10:37 AM by Trillo
If they fuck up, like they have, in a worst case scenario they can ultimately be bankrupted, and governments can continue pretending they had nothing to do with the mess, that it was solely a private corporation's responsibility. In a best case scenario, BP can run out the clock, at some point months down the line, figure out how to cap the well, run through some clean up rituals on shore for a few years, and the populace can be distracted by MSM with the latest circus crisis. Eventually, the spill winds its way through to the courts, finally to the supreme court, where the corporation receives a sternly worded ruling to never do that again.

Meanwhile, mere citizens who spill a couple of quarts of oil in their driveways can help fund the prison industrial complex.

7. Failure to prosecute high ranking officials whether private(BP, AIG) or ..
former Bush officials for warcrimes, torture etc.

No one at the top ever gets prosecuted any more.

6. Correct. BP willfully put profit ahead of almost every safety protocol.
A $500,000 shut off valve intentionally left out as a cost cutting profit measure.

If that valve were in place, there may not be a gusher.

Criminal negligence just as a start.

:fistbump:
