Gringo Mask Lets Tense Arizonans Whiten Up

Taking a trip to Arizona? Need to hide visible minorities? A Gringo mask is essential to preventing police from checking paperwork for illegal immigrants, comes in one color: white.

“It’s our way of saying, ‘You guys are out of control out there,’” Joe Zubi told the Toronto Sun, who is head of a Hispanic ad agency spearheading the effort.

Before going to Arizona, all illegal immigrants (or anyone needing to whiten up) can download a Gringo mask from Mr. Zubi’s website: http://www.gringomask.com to prevent stereotyping.

“I mean, here we are doing what we can to present Hispanics in a positive light,” said Mr. Zubi.

“This is a statement against racial profiling,” he said.

1. How about just a white robe with a pointy headed hood and mask?
No one will stop them in that outfit.

3. Seems more like painting a target on your back.
I guess this is the level of respect for our immigration laws. Now people want to flaunt the fact they shouldn't be here.

Sigh.

4. The Irony is....
We've been here for THOUSANDS of years but yet a number of descendants from those who came here only a short while ago and not respecting the true owners of this land now cry about people who've been here for thousands of years as being illegal and not respecting a land full of descendants of illegal immigrants from Europe.

Sigh.

7. Kinda like the South Africa thing, isn't it?
A bunch of Dutch crybabies who got kicked out their own country, go literally to the other end of the planet (closer to the Penguins than to their homeland) and then try to boot Africans out of Africa.

9. Yes another example exactly.
Its like HELLO! Where the hell do you think we got this brown skin? We certainly didn't get it from Europe, we got it from right here and have been here LONG before (thousands and thousands of years long before) "pilgrims" showed up. Notice how the history doesn't refer to those immigrants as "illegal" but rather as "pilgrims"?

Also notice the lack of reference made to the disrespect of economies WE inflict upon those nations where immigrants are being economically forced out because of OUR economic policies forced onto them?

Thanks Sebastian Doyle,

Peace.

8. It's not the land that makes the US a valuable place to be
It's the system that has produced the industry and way of life.

If Mexico still owned Arizona then people would be trying to leave Arizona to get across the border to the US.

People are escaping a government, it's corruption, and it's lawlessness.

12. So you believe the US exerts no influence on Mexico policies and elections?
The sad fact you're forgetting is how our country meddles in the affairs of other countries governments and policies and only allows corrupt and lawless ones to do our corporate bidding. I take you haven't read John Perkins "Confessions of an Economic Hit Man"? Or another book by him (which I think is better) titled "Hoodwinked"?

13. We created a corrupt Mexican government?
Maybe so people would want to come here illegally? Have to admit I haven't heard that one before. I'd think we would be happier with a stable system like Canada.

Calderon really pissed me off when he talks about how unfair our laws are. He needs to take a look in the mirror and see who is truly failing illegal US immigrants of Mexican heritage.

Breaking US law is not the answer to the plight of the Mexican people.

And I highly doubt Obama would be interested in such a thing. But we can't reverse what was done by Bush types and taking over Mexico is not an option. Ultimately the Mexican people must demand and expect good governance and not simply try to escape. Irony is that nobody seems to want to go back to Mexico and fix the place. You hear about Indians going back to their countries and taking what they've learned to do well for their people. Even Obama senior went back to Kenya to try to make a difference. Where is the Mexican community on trying to do something for Mexico?

The richest man in the world is a Mexican citizen. Mexico has huge potential. But the Mexican people let thugs rule the place.

The US sends military aid to Mexico to suppress Mexican citizens uprising for better conditions. I highly recommend you study the relationship between the US and Mexico before making statements that show you don't know the subject. Just a quick search on google turned up an article that gets into one aspect of the subject. link

It's not the land that makes the US a valuable place to be. It's the system that has produced the industry and way of life. If Mexico still owned Arizona then people would be trying to leave Arizona to get across the border to the US.

People are escaping a government, it's corruption, and it's lawlessness.

So then if its because of a corrupt government, then, how do you explain Washington? You know like for example the Jack Abramoffs and K-Street. Wall Street buying Washington, etc? Isn't that corruption and lawlessness?

Now lets also talk about NAFTA because I am sure you don't believe it has anything to do with the situation concerning immigration. I am sure you erroneously believe its only because of the corruption in the Mexican government.

Especially if it's used for such a purpose. I'd like to talk to my rep about this.

I would support getting rid of Nafta with Mexico. I don't see that it's done them or us much good.

Exactly what do we need to do so that you would be okay with us enforcing our immigration laws as they now stand. Ie no amnesty.

A citizen wearing a mask like this to protest the obviously racist AZ law "shouldn't be here"?

What are you smoking?
