State of Emergency declared in KIngston
and St Andrew Jamaica.
More ominous - the airspace over Kingston and St Andrew has been closed.
There is going to be a bloodbath in this city tonight.

1. I watched an hour special on Jamaica just this afternoon.
Having spent some time there in 1980 I was surprised to find out that basically there is no longer any crime and its totally safe to go anywhere.

4. They run their own businesses now and are way more
united and armed. There is no crime down town - they commit crimes outside of their communities and overseas and more than a few are wealthy from gun and drug running.

The security forces have asked all law abiding citizens to leave Tivoli and Denham Town and have given them a route to leave.
The fact that they have closed the air space over Kingston and St Andrew and told people to leave means there is going to be a major police and soldier operation tonight.

What a fucking mess.

3. United States issued a travel alert for Jamaica on developing security concerns
http://continentaldaily.com/150/united-states-issues-travel-alert-for-jamaica/

United States issued a travel alert for Jamaica on developing security concerns. US State Department alert United States citizens travelling to, and for those living and working in Jamaica for “possibility exists for violence and civil unrest in the greater Kingston metropolitan area over the pending arrest of Tivoli Gardens strongman Christopher ‘Dudus’ Coke.

The United Kingdom on Thursday updated its travel advisory for British citizens in Jamaica. The alert said “The possibility exists that unrest could spread beyond the general Kingston area.”

9. Three attacked
One firebombed.

Citizens in Tivoli and Denham Town are trying to leave (as the police have asked) and say that gunmen refuse to let them leave and there is sustained gunfire.

All this madness for one criminal.

38. Word is that there is another meeting
with the US officialsat 10.00am (JA time) this morning. Word is that all barricades have to be removed today. Dudus will turn himself in to the Chief Justice tomorrow morning and will then wave his rights (must happen because of Jamaican law - warrant had been served) and he will then hand himself over to the US officials to be flown to the US.

Police and army had warned Coke et al that a bloodbath was likely today if this matter was not settled today.

Here's a hilarious clip from one of our best comedians. It explains some of the problems re police shootings.

On examination of the photos posted by Andrew Lee, both by us and members, we suggest that the aircraft circling Kingston is a P-3 Orion surveillance plane and not a C-130 or Predator Drone. See link for more information.
P-3 Orion - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
en.wikipedia.org
The Lockheed P-3 Orion is a four-engine turboprop anti-submarine and maritime surveillance aircraft developed for the United States Navy introduced in the 1960s. It was developed by Lockheed based on their L-188 Electra commercial airliner<2>. ...

Clearly the US want him but the truth is that all these illegal guns are responsible for 1,500 plus murders a year and a lot of anti-social behaviour in these communities including total control of citizens and the rape of more than a few young girls.

The orders were given to the army - shoot on sight - police were told to respond to any attacks with full force. This twitter feed suggests that our Waco is on in full. Sadly these people were given every opportunity to leave the communities under siege by gunmen. One blood bath is taking place now.

Follow this Twitter feed for live updates - quite frightening.
I saw a US military aircraft in the skies and word is that a US Coast Guard ship is in the harbour. TVJ also showed the aircraft flying above West Kingston.

49. Jamaica security forces storm 'drugs lord' stronghold
Jamaican security forces are fighting with gunmen as the government attempts to take control of an alleged drug lord's stronghold in the capital.

Gunfire erupted as troops and police stormed the Tivoli Gardens area to search for Christopher "Dudus" Coke, who is wanted in the US.

A soldier was killed. It follows two police deaths on Sunday.
...
So far there is no indication that the security forces have been successful in tracking down their target in the warren-like slum.
