New Group? People looking for work, has your resume been tweaked lately?

Maybe it needs a fresh outlook. Has anyone thought about a new group to do just that? There are lots of great minds here; I would welcome help on mine, even an IM. I don't know. Just a thought to help everyone out.

Or PM me! :D

1. I "tweak" my resume every time I apply for a new job.
It couldn't BE fresher, or more tailored to the job for which I am applying. That does me absolutely no good at all.

Maybe I could help with yours, but then again, mine doesn't seem to be helping me any lately. Maybe I shouldn't be so negative, but when it's been almost a year and you've received exactly three phone calls and only one series of serious interviews...

3. I'm feeling really negative, too, Berry.
Can I bring out my 'stuff' from over 25 years ago when I waitressed? I don't want to do that, but I will. How about when I was an apprentice drywall finisher? Should that count? Why aren't people who have skills that are great not embraced if they are 'too old'?

I hate the internet in that respect. Meet me, challenge me, I could be great at what you want. Now I'm too old/out of touch/?? No, give me a try.

2. Come on, if you like something, respond. When you don't, good
stuff sinks.

:hi:

6. Great suggestion!
I've been at it for a couple of month and here are a couple of tips.

Establish a new e-mail address just for use on your online resume. (to prevent spam on your primary eml)

Upload a new resume weekly to monster, careerbuilder, hotjobs, etc. Even if you only change one word, you'll float to the top of search results.

Check out indeed.com which aggregates search results from several other job websites.
