9. All three companies failed and are responsible for this failure...
BP needed to speed up the process because of cost concerns. Most safety concerns where ignored by BP and told contractors/workers to move ahead with the project. BP was in total control of the project.

TransOcean damaged the well head and did nothing to fix it. Also, TransOcean had a problem with a control module on the well head and was using the back-up as the primary unit.

Two cement plugs put in by Halliburton failed. The explosion happened while the third plug was being placed in the drilling pipe. The method Halliburton was using to place the plugs was dictated by BP. Halliburton did not object to BP's method.

Please correct is synopsis if there is an error. I only saw the report once and did not take notes.

11. yes.. all 3 companies were at fault...however,

the "expert" they interviewed, Dr Bea, professor of engineering at the University of California, Berkeley, and he stated this was BP's fault. There was a power fight between the two companies... and BP won. They dismissed the concerns of Transocean's protests that something wasn't right and speeding things up was not a good idea.

That is what I got from the piece....

8. Mike Williams, the chief electronics technician on Deepwater Horizon, worked for Transocean
That's one degree of separation for that brave man, but I would still advise him to stay away from small airplanes in the foreseeable future.

Dr Bea, professor of engineering at the University of California, Berkeley, validated everything Williams said.

14. You know, I thought the same thing.
This guy is a lawsuit lawyer's dream witness.
Up against way too much money.

If I were in his shoes, I would be looking to talk to a lawyer, and I would not even bother to talk to any Congressional investigation, since nothing comes of those.
Better yet, I would be talking to someone like John Barry and get a book written.
