One Exxon Valdez every three and a half day
BP estimate 5.000 barrels / day (based on, hold on to your hat, the oil seen on the SURFACE - but they are putting the oil in suspension (think mayonaise) at the subsea leak level)

Revision by Purdue University / UCLA Berekeley / Columbia University / anyone not oil industry or government really puts that figure at 11 million liters or some 70.000 barrels per day.

Exxon Valdez spill was 250.000 barrels in total.

250.000 barrels / 70.000 barrels per day means One Exxon Valdez every three and a half day.

 :grr:

The response to Katrina made me go :wtf: but this goes way beyond that, the leak estimate being the case in point.

regards
bmc
