Are banning oil rigs from our oceans for environmental reasons
a job for Greenpeace? It seems that money will trump common sense, just as it does on the whaling moratorium. Is it time for Greenpeace to start boarding oil rigs pirate style and shut them down? I can't believe I'm even thinking this, but we have new kings and they are corporations. We are nothing but their serfs to be used or abused as needed. Our government is beholden to them. The fact that BP can even claim privacy issues by not being forthcoming with reports on what is going on and it's done with our government's compliance is ridiculous.

8. I thought of Green Peace also

5. I'd rather it be done through proper channels (by the Fed)
I appreciate the sentiments of Green Peace, but I don't want them "boarding oil rigs pirate style" because they may cause another disaster.

10. yes and no
it is time to move green... we are at peak oil...

but you are asking green peace to engage in what our wonderful guv'ment will classify as piracy... and not just our government.

There are ways to work at this.

But the first step, beyond the political is personal... we all need to collectively reduce our energy consumption.

11. I'm already down to the bare minimum.
However, I'm grateful that there will be no more rigs on the coast of California unless Meg Whitman becomes governor and then you will see them all over the coast.

in fact, most people are not there...

There is more, most people still do not give a shit as long as they get their gas at the pump.
