Here is the deal about the FDR/Obama comparisons.
President Obama will never be an FDR. He can't be. The times are entirely different. When FDR took power we were an ascending power on the world stage literally mocked and laughed at by foreign leaders. Our Military was secondary to the forces in Europe as well as our culture and many other things. We were an emerging economic power, but our force projection was limited to mostly actions in this hemisphere our late entrance into WWI aside. There was no military industrial complex. The world was ruled by the Europeans. Colonial power was from Great Brittain and France predominatly.
When President Obama took power we were the power in the world. We are the culture and country the world looks to for leadership.
The US really didn't let the world down under the Calvin Coolidge or Hoover administration like we did under the Bush administration.
What FDR did was build. He built things, and for 30 years it has been torn down by a string of retarded elites who wish to kill the cow that gives them milk for a good feast. Was FDR perfect? No but he built. He literally built the America we know and love and dream about when we think of our golden age. FDR created a new America.
Barack Obama has been tasked with doing a rebuilding effort after a demolition. What type of a job aside I personally think he is doing, Barack is tasked with tyring to reconstruct what was built that a bunch of ideological idiots and greedy sociopaths have torn down. Either that or he is tasked with building a new better America.
It is very difficult to run comparisons of the two tasks. A nation hungering for greatness and a nation hungering to return to it.
