BP won't show the "Top Kill" live
Edited on Tue May-25-10 12:54 PM by thewiseguy
Breaking on CNN, BP is going to kill the live feed while they are attempting the "Top Kill. Not sure why... The oil plume that is gushing out looks considerably darker now.

11. pressured by whom? they blatantly flip off the EPA... so who is making them feel pressured?
I submit they have no one or no agency to fear.

13. in which case they will need more lying about the extent. Real time video messes that up.
if this isn't the most blatant denial of the people's right to know... Anybody heard what else they have in store should this fail? Except the relief well that is? Of course, it's unlikely they fail. They have said a 60-70% chance. They can fashion reality into a success, I'm sure. Who will stop them? And in what year will they refuse to hand over the videos under subpoena?

3. I can't imagine why they wouldn't want the world to witness their technical prowess.

9. exactly, how creepy they can enforce killing the feed
and a bad PR move on their part but seeing an explosion and oil volcano might not be good PR either

8. They want to keep their failures secret
They (BP) haven't had technical prowess since 1987-1988 when the Brits took over SOHIO and laid off a bunch of their best engineers and scientists (been there, done that, bought the t-shirt, loved Cleveland). The level of technical prowess in the industry has deteriorated since the mass layoffs of the 1980's.

10. CNN reporting that BP says no decision has been made yet.
They're still in discussions about it. Sure they are. I'm sure Rep Markey made up the whole thing.:sarcasm:

12. What's a "top kill"? Does it denote the use of explosives to close the well?
