Dear President Obama: If you are going to validate a politically opportunistic Republican governor,
couldn't it PLEASE be Bobby Jindal for now, and not my own unelected governor, Jan Brewer?

Kindest regards from your fan,

20. It is far more beneficial to be his enemy than his friend.
Remember how Bill Clinton would knock his friends in the dirt in his eagerness to embrace those who sought to destroy him?

I think Obama's got it even worse.

11. This is all speculation on my part, but I think they are getting ready to challenge the new AZ law.
And sending these troops down there is going to serve as a pre-emptive cover against the attacks that are sure to come when the administration tells Arizona its racist new law is null and void.

12. God, I hope you're right, but why send troops to the BORDER?!?
Why not send them to Phoenix, where the Mayor is receiving death threats, or to other parts of the state--and the border--where there are likely to be uprisings?

16. think just maybe he's trying to prevent
something from happening down there? I dunno - some all out war? Some vigilante types who are going gunning for 'mexicans'? Maybe there's intel available to the WH that the rest of us peons don't know about yet?

How about maybe there's a good reason? MAYBE? could be? Is it remotely POSSIBLE that there's a REASON that isn't tied to Obama being a sellout or something?

17. This Arizonan really hopes so. But I don't see an imminent crisis and it comes in the
wake of Obama meeting with Republican House and Senate leaders.

Understand that, to much derision, I've been supporting Obama on this site even when it wasn't popular (even in the primaries). But I'm rapidly losing my patience--I'm an Arizonan and there is no issue beyond this ridiculous, inhumane, and unConstitutional law.

Oh, and the overt racism that spawned it.

18. racism
drives a whole lot of things. . .

the thing about "politics" is that they are firmly entrenched - whether we like it or not. Quid pro quo. Tit for Tat. You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours. It's a part of human nature. Unfortunately. Maybe it is something that was "negotiated"- and maybe there's a reason for that, too.
