"Congress Just Sold You Out"
Congress just sold you out to Comcast, Verizon and AT&T.

74 House Democrats and 37 Senate Republicans have signed industry-written letters telling the FCC to abandon efforts to protect Internet users and stop big companies from blocking Internet traffic.

It’s yet another example of dirty politics destroying our democracy, and it has to stop.

Not surprised. We're probably the farthest-left delegation in the House for our size.

47. We will ALWAYS
be the farthest left, regardless of our size!

Even to the extent that Scott Brown will likely vote to the middle if he can get away with it, only going to the right when it comes down to deeply divided measures.

I just wish Martha Coakley had had less arrogance, and more in touch with the people. She shot herself in the foot, and we will pay for it.

18. I've spent the 15 minutes searching for the names but all I've
found is this, "Washington, D.C. – Rep. Gene Green (TX-29) was joined by more than 70 of his colleagues today in sending a letter to Chairman Julius Genachowski of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The letter asks Chairman Genachowski to not advance a current proposal to reclassify broadband internet service and potentially undermine the vast investments already made and those jobs connected with the service."

Why am I not surprised. She is no improvement over the repukes who used to have a lock on the seat.

I made the mistake of voting for her once - but have not since her first election. And NEVER AGAIN.

46. Thank you green party! Please keep us up to date! Democrats are sellling us out
to the point they are now scraping bottom looking for anything to take from the non-rich and give it to the rich.

Way to go democrats! Between torture, a fucked up insurance bill that plasters CEOs with cash, bank reform that plasters CEOs with cash, war that is plastering CEOs with cash and a raging out of control oil spill on the heels of opening up the eastern seaboard to drilling being managed by BP who learned from Exxon that no matter how much damage is done, the CEOs will be plastered with cash... well what's not to love from our democratic leadership.

Jesus its like 1980 and Reagan just won the Whitehouse.

God, we are all a bunch of lazy sad sacks - if this were 1967 democrats would be voting against civil rights and there would be no objections to Vietnam. We'd just happily do what ever our masters say to do.

The spiral into oblivion is happening so fast that it is surreal. Is there anything so cruel, so wrong so destructive that people would actually get motivated to take massive action?

No. We'd rather die. All the right wingers have to do is call us whiners and we quietly sulk back to our caves - poor, internally angry, bullied. Who needs a police state when you have the right wing media.

58. Done!
This is what I wrote on Rick Larsen's Facebook:

"Rick you sold us out with the FCC when you signed a letter urging the FCC to abandon Internet Neutrality. This is unacceptable, it looks like this is because you have received $25,000 from their lobbyists. Many in your district are watching and sad for your lack of insight to the issues surrounding Net Neutrality and ...the Digital Divide being caused by these companies to whom you cater..."

Usually Rick is pretty progressive but he is a prime example of corporate whoring and its affect on everyone, not to mention the severe impact on the least among us.

Our local group, Reclaim The Media just met with the FCC and know we are in for a fight even though they did seem to listen ( http://www.reclaimthemedia.org).

And hey all I will be at the Reclaim The Media table at the Green Festival, hope to see you local Progressive Washingtonians there!
