As she continues to make her rounds on Capitol Hill, getting to know the senators who will decide whether to confirm her as President Obama's second Supreme Court appointee, Elena Kagan can take heart from one carefully thought-out vote of confidence.
"Were I a senator, I would vote to confirm her despite our political differences," Sarah Isgur, a Republican political consultant in Texas, informed us by email.
Isgur was one of three Harvard Law School graduates who participated yesterday in a White House-organized conference call to discuss Kagan, the law school dean from 1999-2009. A self-described conservative, Isgur was effusive about the efforts Kagan made on behalf of right-leaning legal beagles.
