Ft Worth Police Chief pitches testosterone therapy to his officers
...All were topics of discussion at a recent voluntary Wellness Seminar for Fort Worth police officers. Chief Jeffrey Halstead called the meeting to share his testimony about testosterone.

He said he didn't have enough, and hit rock bottom, until he was treated with hormone therapy.

Halstead said he believes some of his officers may be better officers with a hormone adjustment. But is the product he's sharing safe?
...

Halstead said he now feels great again, and to share his success, he created a voluntary wellness program for the entire Fort Worth Police Department and invited the SottoPelle team.
...

"My benefit in sharing this? I'm going to have a better K-9 officer, a better SWAT officer, better police executives, and people who are going to have better retirements," the chief said.

News 8 checked with independent sources about the product Chief Halstead is sharing with officers. Five North Texas doctors with expertise in hormones — representing five different hospitals and clinics — all agreed, first and foremost, that the Chief's testosterone level is too high.

He went from 125, which experts said is too low, to nearly 1,000. On average, the doctors said levels should not exceed 400 to 500...

2. Great gobs of it
tightly encased in black fabric, like enormous, angry sausages.

3. I get a weekly shot just to get up to 160
and I do feel much better. Can't imagine 1000. Gonadal atrophy is one of the big down sides, even at low levels of treatment. This can be countered by becoming a bigger prick.

6. Only if it gets your level
above normal. I'm at the lower normal with treatment. Way below is not fun at all. Therapy has been a life changer. Way less depression and a sex drive. Google "low testosterone symptoms", not good at all. I was worried about the shots and asked my endocrinologist about all of those body builders and their illness due to steroids and he said not to worry as they were using 400 times the dose I take.

7. Low aggression in males
can be a problem if it is too low. Being depressed, cranking all of the time and never being able to say no can lower a mans well being. A normal level of aggression is not a problem. Overly aggressive is. Not one of those black and white issues you may think it is. Trust me, normal is good.

8. Yep. In IMO "assertiveness" is just "socially acceptable agressiveness".
I tried to point that out a while back to a poster bashing aggressive team sports like Football, that is when the "Testosterone has nothing to do with male aggression, it's all societal" rant started. :eyes:
