What were we thinking?

we will have not give it up. it will become a necessity. protecting oil all over the world cost too much any way you split it.also give credence to radicals. have to change our way of life, all there is too it. Europe has been on to this for tears, not us. we live in fantasy land.

But nobody puts the MIC and their billions upon billions of warmongering profits IN THE CORNER.

Those bombs won't blow themselves up! They MUST have a battlefield disneyland to test out all their pretty weapons. Therefore, as long as young men and women can be DUPED into joining up to KILL AND DIE for EMPIRE and War Profiteering, we (and as many civilian contractors) will continue to occupy Afghanistan.

TALIBAN = third world peoples who have no desire to spread terrorism OTHER THAN controlling sections of land in that AF-PAC area. But the MIC needs targets and a definable ENEMY!

Is it any wonder the rest of the world either fears or loathes us?

and the process is well under way. No empire lasts forever and the signs that we are on the downward side of the curve are just there for all to see. Or at least those with eyes open...

On a funny, or not so funny note, Afghanistan will add another Empire to it's record of being the graveyard of empires.

It's how we got out of Vietnam. We need to keep voting out DINOS and Republicans until we have enough liberals in Congress to cut off the money spigot. This time, however, we need to dismantle the whole military industrial complex for good afterwards so that wars for profit are never fought again.
