So Fox News wants to impeach Obama over something minor
Edited on Thu May-27-10 03:24 PM by no limit
and Pelosi took impeachment of Bush off the table in the 2006 elections because she wanted to look forward and not backward. During the Bush years anyone calling for Bush's impeachment was called crazy by the likes of fox news. Now one and a half year in to Obama's administration these assholes scream impeachment the first second they get. Lets look at just a few of the things Bush did which where illegal:

- Torture
- Warrantless Wiretapping
- Outing a CIA agent
- Lying to congress about the threat Iraq posed taking us to an endless war killing almost a million Iraqis and thousands of young Americans.
- Holding secret meetings with energy industry executives
- eliminating habeas corpus
- Blacksites and rendition
- Hiding scientific information about the climate
- Signing statements

I could go on but these are the things that pop in to my head without thinking too hard about them. Fox news didn't make any noise about any of this. Now Obama offers someone a job to get them out of a campaign, the same thing Reagan did and I'm sure Bush did too, and this becomes an impeachable offense.

I'm not suprised about the hypocrisy of Fox News. I'm suprised as to why people such as Pelosi didn't even mention impeachment as all these things were going on when the RW idiots are quick to bring it up the first change they get. Anyone know the answer to that?

1. Before they drown on all that froth, they should check out Kos

Not only did Reagan do the same thing, but he was trying to get a political powerhouse out of the way for his daughter.

2. The Republicans and the Democrats don't play by the same rules.
And whenever the left points that out, we're called the crazy far out fringe.

Which is apparently the solution to every problem. lol

3. Fox News is preparing the agenda for November, when they believe..
their Republicans lack-wits will retake the Congress. Should that happen, impeachment and investigation of Obama will take center stage. They will investigate everything but the color of his skin until they find a charge to impeach him. they did it under Bill Clinton, and it worked. They will do it with Obama.

4. Doesn't matter anymore. Nobody can get impeached.
If you can't impeach for what Bush did, ain't nuthin' impeachable.

6. You have to insert the hypocrisy factor in, though.
Edited on Thu May-27-10 03:37 PM by AndyA
With that, what Democrats do is 100 million times worse than anything a Republican could ever do.

Bill Clinton got a blow job and lied about it. The GOP spent millions going after him.

George Bush killed thousands, lied to start wars, outed covert CIA agents for political purposes during a time of war, illegally spied on American citizens, violated the Geneva Conventions, etc., and what happened to him? Nothing. Nancy Pelosi said impeachment was off the table.

You can bet if the GOP gets back the House, impeachment of Barack Obama will be the first course served! They'll get him on something. Maybe he forgot to check for skid marks and flush the potty again. It will be something important like that. :eyes:

5. I'm not sure Obama offered the job to get Sestak out of the campaign. With
Sestak's naval experience, he seemed like a good choice at the time. I doubt Sestak had announced yet. Perhaps he was thinking out loud about it but I don't know that Sestak had absolutely been a candidate at the time of the offering.

8. So what if he did?
I'm angry that Obama didn't offer Spector a job position and support Sestak in the primary. That offer to Sestak could have backfired royally as Democrats choice would have been between a DINO and a Republican. A choice that many Democrats would have left blank.

I had no issues when previous administrations used their power to play politics with appointments - that's their prerogative. Now, because it's a Democratic President, it's a bribe? total manufactured BS.

10. I totally agree with you. I probably didn't make it clear. This is faux
outrage at its best by the media.

7. Nixon appointed Congressman George HW Bush to head CIA.
While that choice may not have been in our best interests, the fact is, Nixon had the right to offer it. Obama offered Congressman NcHugh the Secretary of the Army slot and and Senator Gregg the Secretary off Commerce. Was that illegal, too? This is really too stupid to debate, but the fact is, the RNC would have done backflips had Sestak taken Obama up on the offer and we'd have lost the PA Senate seat. Sestak didn't and we will probably hold it now. This is what's really driving the Right Wing nuts...
