Mary Landrieu: President Obama will pay politically for spill
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0510/37878.html

By MANU RAJU | 5/27/10 3:15 PM EDT

Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.) says President Barack Obama will pay a political price for his lack of visibility in the Gulf region during the catastrophic BP oil spill.

“The president has not been as visible as he should have been on this, and he’s going to pay a political price for it, unfortunately,” Landrieu told POLITICO. “But he’s going down tomorrow, he’s made some good announcements today, and if he personally steps up his activity, I think that would be very helpful.”

5. "Look, over there ..."
The Queen of Oil deflects blame onto chief executive to save her own posterior. Can I be tired of Mary Landrieu? We've put up with her for so many years.

6. Really?
what the hell good would it do for him to be there all of the time?

It's not as if he's gonna get on a boat and plug the leak himself.

7. Mary Landrieu's political career should be over

I do not see how folks in Louisiana will ever trust her again, and her opponents will run ads showing how she was bought and paid for by BP and the petroleum industry.

Sen. Mary Landrieu says she has no plans to return BP contributions after Gulf oil spill

Sen. Mary Landrieu, D-La., the top congressional recipient of BP-related campaign cash during the last election cycle, has no plans to return contributions from the company responsible a massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, according to the Center for Responsive Politics' website OpenSecrets.org.

Then again, Vitter took money from Enron and BP too, and got his dick stuck in a chicken... and here is is, still a Senator. :eyes:

14. It also helps that his competition is Melancon.
I hope there is a third party person on the ballot because I'm not voting for either one of those stupid assholes.

And with the way Mary is going, I don't see her getting re-elected unless her competition is subpar like the last time. And that was a squeaker even then.

16. Just got back from Venice, LA. - I did not see much going on.
The marinas were mostly full of boats, large and small, and there was hardly anyone down there working (except a few folks coming and going from the Conoco plant, Halliburton and BP blds). The only place I did not look (driving) was the very end of Coast Guard Rd. I got near the end but it was blocked by the Coast Guard. I went around south onto Venice Boat Harbor Dr., and lloked north to Cypress Cove Rd. but not see any activity.

Where's the fucking cavalry? :grr:

8. No Senator, you are the one who told your constituents they can have their cake and eat it too
Even though you knew an accident like this was bound to happen some day.

Drill, baby, drill.

9. Yeah, he will, but she should ahve kept her mouth shut UNLESS she's
trying to cover the fact that she's bought and paid for by BP.

11. Fuck her and the oil tanker she sailed in on
It's hard to imagine that a human being who has basically been a creature of the oil industry her entire political life can say something like that with a straight face.

Why the hell is she even a Democrat?

13. Actually Democrats in Congress will pay for their lack of concern
for the unemployed, especially the long-term unemployed, and for not ramming through a decent jobs bill. The oil spill is secondary.

The economy is in the ditch. Democrats are SUPPOSE to be the party of the people, but our elected officials aren't acting like it.
