I am thinking of making that my show topic for Saturday and probably will piss off everyone with it. I think it is time we take a long hard look at how we have turned into a nation that is so excited to hate that we don't care to work toward solutions if it means we have to do away with hate to some group. I watch things going on in our political world and watch as different places discuss things and the one thing that keeps jumping out is the hate.
I have started topics here about what are the real problems with our immigration situation and how do we get so many. I have tried to get people to think about solutions that involve being educated beyond the normal level and they have had little attention. I have posted about banished veterans and told the story of one who even got a medal for heroic actions from President Clinton but was deported for a bounced check.
Meanwhile, as these threads, sink fast into the back pages I watch as such topics as Rush getting married draw many times more views and comment, or finding some way to blame Obama, or offer solutions to things we really don't have enough knowledge to offer sound solutions, but the problems we can learn enough about, and do something about we ignore. I realize that a number post on the site and that is the limit to what they will do, some are what we call freepers, and some are just bitter and love the chance to hate Republicans because all are bad. Well, I have to say I have seen a limited few who really just want to gripe and no matter what they will find something to gripe about, no solutions, no real concern to find solutions, just as long as they can gripe.
I have seen all Republicans lumped into this evil republican label, and while most certainly deserve the label, there are those who have done a good job and really are worthy of their position. One is Rick Romley
http://www.romleyforcountyattorney.com/16YearsofSuccess.aspx in Arizona who has fought Arpaio, who doesn't support SB1070 and really is one of those who tries to do his job well. We might disagree on some things with him, but in his office he has respect from Democrats and has drawn fire from the extremist on the right. Ah, but he is a Republican so to hell with him is going to be the answer by too many.
Meanwhile as we ignore subjects where we can learn the real story, and refuse to discuss them in the context of knowledge beyond the surface level, but can read and comment on such things as Rush getting married, or how we can solve the oil gusher with solutions we don't have knowledge enough to really suggest in a reasonable fashion, that is great. Too bad we don't spend the time and energy on solving problems like the Banished Veterans, Immigration, treatment of our veterans. Yeah I know we wouldn't be able to enjoy the Joys of Hate.
