It is what has made the Democratic party an ineffective one. It is the blue dogs why we didn't get a public option for HCR, and why the financial reform is half-ass-ed

However, change is coming, and the administration better take note. After the loss of Ted Kennedy's seat, which I lay directly at the feet of the administration, and Tim Kaine ignoring the consequences of that loss, the progressives have actually got their act together as was demonstrated by the Arkansas and Pennsylvania elections.

The administration has been bending over back wards to the republicans and the blue dogs, and ignoring the progressive base

If they continue to do so it will be at their own peril.

There was a time when the distinctions between Democrats and republicans, especially on social issues, was very clear. Today that clarity is not as pronounced, and that is because of the undue influence of the blue dogs

Many so-called analysts are saying the elections are a reflection of an anti-incumbent movement, but I disagree. I think, at least as far as the Democrats are concerned, a reflection of the registered Democratic voters wanting the party to go back to its progressive roots, that started with FDR, and peaked with LBJ

1. I think it will
Jobless pay extension OK'd

The U.S. House approved legislation Friday to extend unemployment insurance, restore some tax breaks and raise taxes on managers of buyout funds and other investment partnerships.

Lawmakers voted 215-204, largely along party lines, for the legislation costing about $112 billion. The Senate plans to take up the measure during the week of June 7 after lawmakers' Memorial Day recess.

"It's a good bill for jobs, it's a good bill for closing tax loopholes, it's a good bill for dissuading people from taking jobs overseas," Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Md., said on the House floor before the vote.

3. It's a start. How about going after the $1 trillion in Bush Tax Cuts..
..in 2001 Bush gave the top earning Corporations $1 Trillion in tax cuts.. supposedly to spur jobs.

The corporations answered by shipping 30 million American jobs to China and other low wage countries.

If the Blue Dogs are so damm worried about the deficit.. why son't they cancel that $1 Trillion gift George Bush gave to Big Corps?

4. So-called "blue dog" Democrats are not really Democrats.
Hell, there are so many who vote like Republicans they should just join up.

Realistically, most blue dogs are only nominally Democrats because they can get elected against crazy Republican mouth-breathers.

When the blue dog dems are added to the Republicans, we really don't have a majority in Congress at all.
