8. I think they are severing the riser pipe.

You have well -> BOP -> riser pipe (w/ multiple leaks).

Severing and moving riser pipe is the prep for a couple new longshots:
cap directly over BOP to siphon to surface
install secondary BOP directly on top of existing BOP.

propaganda. They don't block the airwaves anymore like in the old days, now they just pump out disinformation and often media airhead commentary which is even worse. Fortunately the BBC broadcasts are sometimes like Voice of America in the old days.

Edit - looks like I was reading that gauge incorrectly - the DPT was the depth gauge and it appeared to be surfacing.

26. the 'DPT' gauge has gone from 4k to 2k and continuing to go down at a steady rate

i have no idea what that means but if it stands for DEPTH then it would confirm it is going to the surface.

http://globalwarming.house.gov/spillcam you can see the bottom of the pic and it looks like a huge place the oil is coming out of. The oil drum cam has that damn PBS line across the bottom of the pic.

It looks like straight up from the floor, not out of the pipe like before.

46. I was just there....looks like a gusher. It's hard to tell where it's coming from...

...after the mud started the landscape seemed to change...sediment, maybe?

In any event, it certainly looks like oil is flowing, which I guess means top kill didn't work. Some posters are thinking they're going to try and install another BOP on top...? God, i looked at the LBN and the Latest this morning and saw nothing about the oil leak continuing and started hoping that it wasn't being discussed because the leak had been stopped. This roller coaster of disappointment is getting a bit much.
