What happens when the first hurricane hits?
I mean, with the top kill not working, and with really nothing else that will work for months... What happens when the hurricanes start coming and they are out there trying to drill the relief wells... Do they have to stop and move all that equipment into shore? I don't imagine they can keep it there and continue drilling? Is this going to continue spewing until hurricane season is over with? Will there be ANY coast left by that time?

5. I'll try and answer your questions..
I believe rigs are designed to withstand a moderate hurricane. Operations will be suspended however and the crew evacuated. The ships will likely be moved to port or out of the way until the storm passes.

The stuff a mile deep underwater will be left there and should be fine.

Hurricane season end November 30th. I really, really hope it isn't spewing by then. Development Driller 1 is scheduled to intercept the well in July-August. The two busiest hurricane months for Louisiana are August and September.

And yes there will be coastline left, but dwindling away even faster.

6. It depends on who you ask.
Some are suggesting that the oil + chemicals can get swept up and carried inland.

Others are saying that in order to increase in strength, the hurricane needs to pull warmth from the water - and that the oil might prevent that.

Either way, affected coastlines from the eye to the right can expect storm surge with polluted water.

8. Well, a hurricane might act like a centrifuge, separate the oil from the water

and dump the oil on land, hopefully over Rush Limbaugh's house in Palm Beach, Florida.

9. It'll be CHOCOLATE RAIN
If by "chocolate" you'll have a greasy, toxic sludge coating everything in sight.
