They may be Blue Dogs, but as Democrats they count for who as the majority in the House and the Senate. And that determines which party has the various committee chairs and Speaker of the House and Senate Majority Leader. Do the above posters desire that those positions be filled by Republicans?

Therefore, any Democrat, even a Blue Dog is better than any Republican.
