Education

I need to get some info quickly on Joe's position on education. I know I could google it, but thought you guys might be quicker and more comprehensive. I don't care how detailed. I can condense things fairly quickly into something I can use. I honestly haven't studied the Education aspect of this election at all. I all of a sudden have been hearing many questions on it.

I need to take off for awhile...

Education should start earlier.
More pay for teachers - 40k to start.
Affordable college by removing the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy.

AND his beautiful wife is a college professor. Jill Biden has her doctorate in Education. That alone says alot.
The first lady knows the system inside and out - that is her life, and you can be guaranteed that she will work hard for education issues.

To build a 21st century education system, Joe Biden would:
Move Toward A Sixteen Year System: For those that wanted, two years of pre-school and two years of higher ed

Focus on Retaining And Training Teachers: increase salary levels, bonuses for teachers in high risk schools, incentives for professional development

Reduce Class Size: hire more teachers

Overhaul No Child Left Behind

sorry to jump your points....but it's very relevant too.

I really do think this is a huge talking point to take to the caucuses.
It's like Biden has insider information.

I have read over the material. I think I have enough information that I can talk about his positions on education. I don't know why I let this get by me. In the past Education has been a big issue in the Iowa caucus. The media has told us differently. I realized yesterday I didn't know much about his position on education. I was getting that question....or hearing that question posed alot all of a sudden. It still is a big issue here. You just aren't hearing it in the news.
After reading this information......I have to say I am very impressed again by the insight this man has. By now I shouldn't be surprised.....but it just gets better and better.

A 21st Century Education System - Joe will replace the old 12-year school system with a new 16-year system that places a heavy emphasis on starting education earlier in a child's life and ensuring that every qualified student receives at least two years of higher education after high school.

Joe also mentions in his stump speech that there is an education gap or disadvantage for some kids before they even start school which needs to be addressed through pre-k, etc.

I think 16-year system is the key word I would go with if you want to keep it short. 2 years before kindergarten and two years after high school.
