Ambrose Finnegan - Maternal Grandfather
Catherine Finnegan - Mother
Finnegan Biden - Granddaughter

Actually, I was thinking of Ambrose Finnegan and Finnegan Biden. I envision Joe as a bridge between what has been and what will be. Finnegan's Rangers is a veiled reference to supporters of Joe Biden - not only as a candidate, which we all have been; but supporters of Joe Biden as a role model for humanity, and supporters of Joe Biden as a pragmatic visionary for his time.

An on-going, tightly knit but widely dispersed cadre of individuals who are committed to keeping Joe Biden's 2008 campaign initiatives alive in the hearts of the nation, working surreptitiously to effect the inspiration, goals and policy objectives of the greatest statesman of this time, both domestic and foreign.

Beyond that basic concept, I would expect Finnegan's Rangers, as a militia of hope, to develop their leadership, bring clarity to their purpose and define their mission.

Drafting Joe seems to me to be an unlikely activity, and certainly so without Joe's nod. I envision working with Joe, not against him.

For example, however, in the equally unlikely event of a deadlocked convention, I can see Joe being a broadly accepted second choice, and in the space of a couple days Finnegan's Rangers may well be able to contribute significantly to a brokered candidacy with Joe as the Democratic nominee.

elleng also has an idea for on-going efforts, and is suggesting formation of a group for a specific mission. Perhaps a mission suitable for Finnegan's Rangers?

Stranger things have happened and, as we are taught by the Old Ones: "No Truth Is Too Strange."

3. Plausible deniability for Joe? No, you're right. Poindexteresque in the extreme.

"Transparently." If we're embarrassing him, he'll tell us. In the immortal words of the Candidate, "Don't be a phony." Works for me. One thing I know for sure is that there's no such thing as "good thinking." Only "good re-thinking."

7. As my daddy always said, son....
locks are only to keep the honest people out. A thief is a thief, and they're all stealing Joe's stuff, right and left - red and blue. But your point is well taken. I just refuse to give the Obamination a lock on hope!

10. And the irony
Biden has been tagged a plagiarist for so long, yet his opponents have no problem stealing his issues and words without giving him credit. I can picture the political operatives studying his videos like a football team viewing the opposing team's plays. "What would Joe do?" "I don't know, lets watch his videos and see."
