3. I guess that discussion was between Joeisoneofus and me . . . .
Edited on Thu May-22-08 12:33 PM by pirhana
We were 'talking' about how Biden's website is new and improved; how quick he came out to defend Obama; etc.
I was saying that it looked like he was sharpening up his resume'.

edit to add - that Joe Biden was the cutest 10 year old. :loveya:

4. Ah -- gotcha.
I probably shouldn't remind people (but I will) that I posited the possibility that when Joe first spiffed up his site, he was positioning himself to be the savior if the process breaks down at the Convention and we have no declared nominee. It was just my on-going fantasy that I probably won't let go of until we DO get a nominee, but what a nice fantasy it is. EVERYONE lives happily ever after. :7

And Joe is the cutest WHATEVER-year-old.

On C-Span 3 I just caught the last moments again of his speech the other day, and I gotta say again, he looked exceptionally fine!

9. Ya know how I was saying I was worried about how Biden looked?
It must be my new hi-def tv.
CNN broadcasts in hi-def...and everyone looks like crap :)
You can see every freckle, wrinkle, imperfection in hi-def.

Remind me to never go on CNN :P

11. Ha! I've heard that about HDTV --
I don't think ANYBODY should go on that who's over the age of 18.

I've also heard that Joe's, um, hair enhancements are GLARING on HDTV. I seriously was concerned when I heard that when I was still convinced he'd be our next Prez!

7. I don't think that's Obama's list --
I think it's a list that the pundits have come up with. His campaign is still being kind of cagey -- and the Dems spoke "on condition of anonymity".
But, I DO think Obama's got to be giving him some serious consideration.

One of the guys on MSNBC put forth what HE considered his short list, and I think that's the list they read on MSNBC.

8. That's what was on Gregory's show.
They were saying that Obama hired someone to start vetting these people.
There were 8, and Biden was one of them. Unless I completely misunderstood them.

Personally, I don't think that Biden would get it.
There's that 2 Senators on a ticket issue (Not a winner)
I hope I don't sound too snarky (I'm having a 'not at all happy with Obama day')
but Biden is everything that Obama has campaigned against - voted for the war, funding, DC insider, etc. They may also ask what states Biden will bring to the ticket.

I think Biden would be a tremendous asset to Obama - that he would complete Obama politically.
I just don't think Biden fits into their message of change. :(

Biden for Sec'y of State!

10. Yeah, it's apparently official that Obama has retained someone to
begin the VP process, but I think the short list itself was just conjecture. Most of the people named have been mentioned several times. But I could be wrong on this. It just seems awfully quick to come up with "the list" on the very day they say they're going to begin considering options.

In one of the articles we saw, Biden insiders said he'd prefer to be SOS, so that would be just peachy with me!

And you could be right about Biden not fitting in with the "change" theme. I'm currently hot on Brian Schweitzer - Gov of Montata - for VP -- regardless of who the nom turns out to be. He's a great guy.
