Chavez said he's expecting to re-establish contact with the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, or FARC, to finalize the release of hostages Clara Rojas and Consuelo Gonzalez de Perdomo. A mission organized by Chavez to receive the hostages fell apart Dec. 31 when the guerrillas pulled out.

1. it might be advisable to disassociate himself with the FARC
he was a little too eager last time and got burned.
