First lady's day in Mexico City
Michelle Obama discussed drug treatment with Mexico’s first lady, Margarita Zavala, in Mexico City on Wednesday as she began her first solo trip abroad.

"The First Ladies discussed a series of issues of importance to young people in both the United States and Mexico, including drug addiction treatment and early prevention programs and the importance of the humane treatment of unaccompanied migrant children,” the White House said. "Mrs. Obama and Mrs. Zavala underscored the importance of engaging families and communities in tackling the challenges facing young people in both countries as a key to helping build a better future for the United States and Mexico."

Obama met with Zavala at the presidential palace, Los Pinos, for about 45 minutes. Afterward, they was headed to the National Museum of Anthropology, where they took a tour with Ambassador Alfonso de Maria y Campos, the general director of the National Institute of Anthropology and History, according to the pool.

In a courtyard, Obama and Zavala listened to a chorus of roughly 100 children, some in wheelchairs and some signing words, and the Carlos Chavez Youth Symphonic Orchestra. Upon leaving, Obama remarked, "Gracias!"

Upon entering a schoolyard, the pool reports "squeals, shouts, claps and cries" as children chanted "Michelle" in three Spanish syllables. She joined them in an exercise game and watched them sing and dance.

Edited on Thu Apr-15-10 09:31 PM by Jennicut
She dressed her in green, as she looked as these pictures and loved the green dress. We need to work on Barack next. This looks like a good one:

My daughter loves Michelle and what a great role model for her to have. :)

People might actually like her. ;)

Dare I say... one of Mr. Obama's best decisions?
