Stewart: Fox News logo like Nazi propaganda
By David Edwards
Thursday, April 15th, 2010 -- 11:51 am

An Obama administration logo for the Nuclear Security Summit might be a secret nod to Muslims if you believe some conservatives and even Fox News. They say that the logo sports a crescent similar to those seen on the flags of Muslim nations.

Following the lead of those conservative pundits, Comedy Central's Jon Stewart looked into the Fox News logo and mockingly claimed to have found shocking similarities to fascist imagery.

The controversy appears to have been sparked by a Wednesday column in the New York Post by Michael Goodwin.

"The crescent, often with a single or multiple stars, is the main symbol of Islam," Goodwin wrote. "So now there is something like it at an official presidential event, prominently displayed in photographs being beamed around the world."

Only hours later, Fox News attempted to further the debate.

"That's the same thing you see on the flags of Turkey, Algeria, Tunisia and Pakistan," Gretchen Carlson said on Fox & Friends Wednesday. "And what they do they have in common? They're all Muslim nations."

Jon Stewart was quick to mock the nation's most popular news channel. "We're just letting you know about some f*cking thing we saw saying this is the message of the Muslim world. Wondering if we put that logo up with four Muslim flags whether you'll have a visceral reaction to our president," Stewart joked.

But the Comedy Central host turned the tables when he looked for deeper meaning in the Fox News logo. A screen graphic, he claimed, showed remarkable similarities between the Fox News brand and Nazi propaganda used to justify the invasion of Poland.

"I'm not saying the design is identical but it raises some interesting questions about Fox News' secret support for Germany's annexing of Poland. That's crazy!" exclaimed Stewart.

1. I find it highly suspicious that if you turn the Fox News logo backwards, it looks like Cyrillic
lettering. Isn't that the same lettering once used by... STALIN???

5. And people were worried that the Daily Show wouldn't be funny after Bush left office
Instead of having Bush write the show, tea-baggers and FAUX news do it now.
