(The Obama Presidency, Day 451)

A man walks past a Turbo Tax software software filing package on display at a Staples store in Manhasset, New York, April 15, 2010. With another April 15 U.S. deadline for filing tax returns looming, 2010 is likely to be the last year of lower taxes for the wealthiest Americans. President Barack Obama and most fellow Democrats want to let Bush-era tax cuts expire for those earning more than $200,000 and households making more than $250,000.

Chunks of coal bearing the names of the 29 miners who died in the explosion at Massey Energy Co.'s Upper Big Branch mine in Montcoal, W. Va. a week ago Monday, appear in a makeshift memorial in Whitesville, W.Va. on Tuesday, April 13, 2010. Workers were able to remove the bodies of the last 9 miners from the mine earlier this morning.

A resident holds a sign during a rally before the visit of U.S. President Barack Obama to the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida April 15, 2010. The White House on Wednesday defended President Obama's new space policy after Apollo 11 hero Neil Armstrong and other astronauts called it a step-down that would make NASA's program dependent on Russian goodwill. Obama will visit Kennedy Space Centre in Cape Canaveral, Florida, on Thursday to lay out revisions to the strategy, which has been under attack since it was unveiled by the U.S. space agency in March.

Palestinian artist Mohammed Al-Shalabi 43, adds stars to a painting of U.S. President Barack Obama, at his studio in the West Bank town of Jenin, Thursday, April, 15, 2010. President Obama gave a surprisingly downbeat assessment earlier this week of the chances for a U.S.-brokered peace settlement in the Middle East, saying that the United States cannot help if Israel and the Palestinians decide they cannot negotiate.

1. Holy @#$% that last photo scared me!
It looked at first as if Obama was out on the wing of the plane while it was still flying.

Now THAT would have been something.

2. The pic of the miners' memorial really really hit me hard.
Heartbreaking.

Love, Michelle in Mexico! She looks beautiful as always.

And Buzz...I was watching him on Dancing with the Stars two weeks ago (guilty pleasure with my husband, okay?). He was very sweet on the show and he could actually move for an 80 year old! He got voted out of course.

12. Kate is AWFUL! Worst dancer I have seen in a long time on that show.
Actually, no one is as bad as Tome Delay was. Or as creepy.
Strangely, Pamela Anderson is not bad at all. Who knew?

... as for Pamela ... she's a professional entertainer ... never discount anyone who's on the top of their game ... whatever that game may be. I follow all of those guys on Twitter and ever since that week where she ALMOST went home, she's been running a voting campaign the DNC would be proud of.

That's what I love about this show .... on one hand, it's pure corn ball. But they all take it SO seriously and work so hard at it, it's cute.

.... lol, well of course you didn't, because it was on Fox! lol (I can't deal with Ratigan)

Anyway, he compared himself, Armstrong and whomever the third main signer of that letter to the President to the teabaggers. I dont remember exactly what he said, why he thought that was the case ... but he def. said it.

The WhiteHouse billed this as a speech to NASA workers, and was *interrupted repeatedly with rousing applause*. Only problem, as leaked on MSNBC (whoooops), NO NASA workers were in fact there.

http://newsbusters.org/blogs/geoffrey-dickens/2010/04/15/msnbc-anchor-spins-obama-after-nbc-reporter-slams-obama-nasa-cuts

WITT: Okay so this is really, there's a dividing line here between these very few elite men.

BARBREE: It sure is. Well I'll tell you it's really not. You have, you have Buzz Aldrin, who is - has his oldest son Andrew Aldrin is a, is the chief planner of the Launch Alliance Group, the Delta 4 rocket and the Atlas 5 rocket and they are the people who are trying to get the job of hauling the Orion spacecraft into space and they're going to downsize it so they can put them on these rockets. So what - they're trying to do that. Neil Armstrong and all the rest of the guys, they see what's happening here. We do not have a conceivable...I can't get the word out. They do not have continuation of the space program.

WITT: Okay.

BARBREE: But I'm a little disturbed right now, Alex. I just found out some very disturbing news. The President came down here in his campaign and told these 15,000 workers here at the Space Center that if they would vote for him, that he would protect their jobs. 9,000 of them are about to lose their job. He is speaking before 200, extra hundred people here today only. It's invitation only. He has not invited a single space worker from this space port to attend. It's only academics and other high officials from outside of the country. Not one of them is invited to hear the President of the United States, on their own space port, speak today. Back to you Alex.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

and on our Fla news tonight it was disclosed that 50 million $$ of your tax dollars will be going to the displaced workers from NASA.........workers that were lied to by Obama when he was begging for their votes for the White House!!

He wouldn't even meet with them..but the spin is deep as horse shit now.........

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Neil Armstrong
America’s only path to low Earth orbit and the International Space Station will now be subject to an agreement with Russia to purchase space on their Soyuz – at a price of over 50 million dollars per seat with significant increases expected in the near future .

Edited on Fri Apr-16-10 10:26 AM by flyarm
if you have a problem with the source take it up with MSNBC.......it was sourced by them!

seems the problem is with MSNBC because when you go to their web site, and you use their search ..but all the other interviews with Barbree are at the MSNBC web site sourced by MSNBC...an interview from the day before in fact April 14th and an interview with him on April 12th..go ahead go look it up yourself!!!!!!!!!!!!!

there search takes you to Newsbuster..on MSNBC's web site.

go ahead go to MSNBC and see where a search for their own interview shows up..so your criticism should be addressed to MSNBC because the source for their interview as posted on MSNBC is Newsbuster!!!!!!!!!!

directly from the MSNBC web site..is as follows..go ahead look it up!! do the damn search yourself for the MSNBC interview!!!!!!!!

Edited on Fri Apr-16-10 11:09 AM by flyarm
This was the #1 source on MSNBC in their search engine for their own Interview..

And you do not know me..I am a formerly Elected Democrat in MY state of Florida.

It is people in My state that are going to lose their jobs..Highly technical and scientific jobs.

The very people I was formerly elected to represent! As a democrat.

This story was on My television yesterday and yours as well on MSNBC..

So is MSNBC now freeper?????????

Or just me???.. because I posted what was on MSNBC own web site as a source for their own story?????????

And is it my fault MSNBC sourced their very own Interview on Newsbuster???????

Sorry i never heard of Newsbuster..but I assumed since MSNBC sourced their own interview and had the transcript there it was a ok source.

Here directly from the MSNBC web site..is as follows..go ahead look it up!! do the damn search yourself for the MSNBC interview!!!!!!!!

21. MSNBC:"Obama pinpointed those concerns in his speech in front of 200 NASA employees, astronauts,..."
I don't trust the veracity of the exchange between Barbree and Witt.

It sounds like there was a mixed crowd including but not exclusively composed of employees.

But it is not on the local Florida news web site..it was just in their reports last night.

23. I'm wondering why MSNBC scrubbed it.
Could it be a misunderstanding, that people who expected to be invited were not and it just got out of hand?

These things do happen.

It seems to be much ado about nothing.

I mean, why would President Obama deliberately disrespect or mislead workers, it could only backfire.

Of course, newsbusters is happy to perpetuate the story.
