Lieberman, Collins serve administration subpoenas on Ft. Hood
By Jordan Fabian - 04/19/10 03:58 PM ET

Sen. Joe Lieberman (D-Conn.) and Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine.) on Monday issued subpoenas to the Obama administration regarding the shootings at Ft. Hood last year.

The two senators had threatened to subpoena the administratio after they made repeated requests for information on records on the shooting, which left 13 dead.

The senators say in the letter that the administration has until next Monday to reply to the request to "fulfill their legal obligation."

The Pentagon has pushed back against the request for information, saying it does not want to reveal sensitive information about the incident, which is still being investigated.

The subpoenas indicate a major rift between the Obama administration and Lieberman, who caucuses with the Democrats.

Democratic leaders have indicated they do not intend to rescind his chairmanship due to the subpoena.

2. He will be gone in 2012. He is unelectable here in CT.
Approval in the 30 % range? Not good.

5. CT Republicans are weak. Lieberman lost CT Independents along with CT Dems
The Repubs 2006 canidate was a minor league character. Gov. Rell (R-CT) unofficially supported Lieberman, who got financing from Bush's Pioneers and Rangers.

If Lieberman decides to run again as an Independent, he won't be able to use the CT for Lieberman party line again because Lamont supporters took it over. He might get financing from Wall Street and the Insuarnce companies, but that will further erode his meager poll ratings. I expect him to cash in his Congressional career for a lucrative consulting one to Wall Street and Insurance Companies. After 2 years, he can become a lobbyist for them.

7. Ugh. Thanks. Too bad the word 'retire' doesn't seem to apply
to them/him. I'm tired of looking at this clown.

12. He is already a Repub considering all the Repubs voted for him.
My conservative parents did. He needs support from independents and won't get it.

11. We did not see this level of scrutiny and vigilance in Lieberman
under the 8 years of the George W. Bush administration, yet he appears to be every so watchful and aware under Obama.

What a tool.
