Activists Interrupt Obama's Speech
By Kerry Eleveld

A group of LGBT protesters disrupted and temporarily halted a speech President Barack Obama was delivering Monday night at a Los Angeles fundraiser for Sen. Barbara Boxer.

Several minutes after Obama took the stage, several activists from the group GetEQUAL began shouting and expressing anger about the slow pace of progress on repealing “don’t ask, don’t tell.”

"What about ‘don't ask, don't tell?’" yelled one protester, as the crowd tried to hush them.

“We are going to do that,” Obama responded and kept talking, upping his volume, but the protesters persevered. The crowd finally erupted into chants of “Yes, we can," in order to silence the activists.

Obama reiterated, “We are going to repeal ‘don't ask, don't tell.’”

And on a related note......
Bill Milliken, right, owner of Maine Beer and Beverage, carries a basket of beer that will be delivered to President Barack Obama, Monday, April 19, 2010, in Portland, Maine. Obama mentioned Milliken during his recent visit to Portland as an example of a small business owner who will benefit from federal health care reform before lightheartedly requesting free samples of Maine beer. Bill Milliken, known as "Bill the Beer Guy", arranged for a basket filled with beer from 10 brewers.

2. What are those "No New Taxes" people talking
about? They've had "Enough" of what?

Taxes were lowered except those who are making more than $250,000. You'd think they'd be able to keep up.

10. Poor guy. It seems that everyone is angry at him today.

Unfortunately, the winner of the "angry face brigade" belongs to the Teabaggers. To see the anger in the Teabaggers' faces almost seems like a caricature translated onto the printed image. It's almost comical watching all that screaming stopped in mid-motion.

But, I've found out one thing about the POTUS: it not only takes big shoulders to bear the weight of all these burdens; it also takes even larger ears to listen to the ugliness and the disrespect that comes one's way.

You'd almost have to be a pillar of strength to be calm in the midst of all that vitriol.

11. It is sad whenever I see younger people supporting Republicans.
Yuck. At 20, you would think they would WANT to be liberal. I rebelled against my conservative parents at 17 and became...a Democrat!
All of the rest of the protesters have legitimate issues to fight for. But students for Carly Fiorina? Makes me shake my head.
