President Obama said tonight that the U.S. will set up exchange programs with business people throughout the Muslim world as part of the overall outreach program he outlined last year.

"The new beginning we seek is not only possible, it has already begun," Obama told the Presidential Summit on Entrepreneurship in Washington, D.C.

The exchange programs will include business opportunities in Silicon Valley, technology, telecommunications, health care, education and infrastructure, Obama told the summit that included delegates from the U.S. and Muslim countries.

The summit was one of the ideas Obama pitched during his June speech in Cairo outlining "a new beginning between the United States and Muslim communities."

2. Uhm.. It is important to keep the brightest talent coming
In a way I think the h-1B visa thing had some good results, spurring lots of technological growth in the U.S. Then of course there is the problem of underpaying people, and reducing the number of opportunities for those who are truly passionate about their work. As a programmer/web developer, I don't know any others, I've run into a few who complain vaguely but I've never actually met anyone like me who codes 10 hours a day just because that's what I like to do. So, just wondering what others think about this.

3. Just as long as we don't talk about violence
or threats against the creators of South Park and Comedy Central, or anyone who depicts Mohammad in any way - how fucking stupid. How bout let's see the Muslim world address some of their insanity before we become best pals. I'm all for peace, but Muslim extremism is some scary shit. Then again so is our overwhelmingly Christian military. Fuck it - whatever. The world is just looking particularly crazy to me today I guess.
