Obama Drug Czar and Bill Bennett defend Marijuana Prohibition on CNN
I just posted this clip in the Political Videos section where Wolf Blitzer and discussing Obama's new "change of direction" on the War on Drugs. Which isn't so much a change in policy as it is a change in wording of the SAME policy.

I don't get how people can repeat the same myths with no evidence to support a damn thing they're saying! It's sheer lunacy at this point that prohibition is still defended when the evidence to the contrary is so damning and so lopsided it's not even funny anymore. I'm wondering who's interests the drug czar is defending when he says legalization is a "non-starter?" Maybe America's prison industry? Big Pharma? The CIA? The DEA? All of the above?

1. Wow.. when did Gil Kerlikowski change his view on the WOD?
Edited on Sat May-22-10 11:00 AM by lib2DaBone
I remember him when he was Police Chief in Pt. St. Lucie, Florida. He was a moderate and said some very encouraging things about bringing "rationality" to the WOD.

When he went to Seattle as Police Chief, he was still moderate.. but since he has joined the Obama Administration... he has gone hardcore Right-Wing WOD. WTF happened?

Was it the liquor lobby? Big Tobacco? For-profit prisons? The Goldman-Sachs boys want to figure out a way to corner the market before they legalize it?

4. I'd like for them to explain what's so different about their "new" policy
as opposed to what we've had before.

:silly: Seriously, why is this guy, who's a hypocrite extraordinaire still gleaning media attention? Oh! That's right - because the M$M outlets are all chock full of corporate whores. (No disrespect to sex workers).

Here ya go! :smoke:

8. How about a scientist and a sociologist discussing pot?

Instead of a political hack and a law enforcement officer??

The best thing they could do for the US at this time would be to legalize and tax pot.

Think of how much money is spent on fighting weed and imprisoning.

How about getting brave putting a federal tax on weed and using it to keep SS solvent instead of having some hacks decide to cut it.

9. The problem is they can't outlaw being young and they can't out law being black, and
they can't outlaw long hair. So they just outlaw the common denominator.
