Assuming the furor over his role in the Joe Sestak affair doesn't force him to change his plans, former President Bill Clinton is scheduled to headline a fundraiser for Rep. Timothy H. Bishop (D-N.Y.) Thursday evening.
The $2,400-a-ticket event will be held not in Bishop's eastern Long Island district, but at the Manhattan home of media mogul Robert Sillerman. But at least one lucky small donor will be coming along. Bishop, in an e-mail to supporters, said anyone contributing $25 to $100 to his campaign by the end of the day today would be entered in a raffle to win two free tickets to the Clinton fundraiser.
Clinton isn't the only big name wading in to the Long Island race.
On June 29, former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger is scheduled to headline a fundraiser for Chris Cox, one of several candidates seeking the Republican nomination to take on Bishop in November.
