Glenn Beck spars with Bill O'Reilly about President Obama's Ground Zero visit, calls it 'shameless'
Glenn Beck's praise for President Obama certainly didn't last long.

Days after thanking the commander-in-chief for authorizing the killing of Osama bin Laden, the conservative host ripped Obama and his visit to Ground Zero as "shameless."

Beck sarcastically told fellow Fox News host Bill O'Reilly on Friday that the President wasn't letting a "good crisis go to waste," fresh of his earlier remarks that the trip was an "obscene" "victory lap" for Obama.

O'Reilly said Beck was being too harsh on Obama. "Anything that draws attention to the suffering of the 9/11 families is worth it," he said.

9. Because we have a First Amendment.
Same thing that "allowed" us to criticize Bush just as harshly as we wanted. I can't stand Beck and his trash talk, but like it or not, it's protected speech - as it should be.

14. I'm getting really tired of this 1st amendment crap. I should remind you

that your supreme court awarded first amendment rights
to corporations? There is no precedent for that in the
constitution, bill of rights or two hundred years of
subsequent law.

So the 1st amendment means nothing except absolute corporate
control of free speech.

The right to free speech is empty in an age where the government
gives corporations the right to unlimited and undisclosed financial
contributions to political campaigns, unlimited and undisclosed
lobbying campaigns.

Meanwhile so called free people are confined to 'free speech' zones.
What a travesty. There are no 1st amendment rights anymore except
for corporations.

6. Interesting how...
Edited on Sat May-07-11 05:39 PM by Vicar In A Tutu
...thanks to the shifting positions of the Ker-azzzy phenom which is the current GOP, O'Riley is now a moderate Republican -some probably think of him as a liberal - whereas Glenn Kecks is slap bang in the current mainstream.

12. Beck and O'reily are stupid.
Still you have to hand it to them, they really stick up for their side when times are good or bad or as the case is right now against a popular president. That's a huge contrast with our so called liberal media talk show hosts who were kissing bush's ass in 2003 when he invaded Iraq.

15. Victory laps are the fair and appropriate province
of the victorious. While I don't think it is fair to call what was done a "victory lap", President Obama has earned one if he wants to take it. Bush certainly would have been mounting a trophy somewhere under these circumstances. If it were Bush spiking the football, my dollar says we would not have heard a thing from Beck about it.
