"30 Rock" star Tina Fey reprised her role as former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) during a "Saturday Night Live" send-up of a mock Republican presidential debate.
The NBC sketch comedy show got in its first attempt of the 2012 cycle at skewering the Republican field, led by Fey, who revived her caricature of Palin first conceived during the 2008 presidential campaign.
Fey was last night's host, and she wasn't the only SNL alum to make an appearance in the sketch; Darrell Hammond, who enjoyed a long career on the program parodying a number of political leaders, appeared in the sketch as Donald Trump.
The sketch was meant to mock the candidates who didn't participate in Thursday's first Republican forum in South Carolina. In doing so, SNL offered hints of which of its players will likely be playing other candidates this cycle. Jason Sudeikis played former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and Bobby Moynihan played former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.
