WSJ destroys Mittens before he even gets started
Edited on Fri May-13-11 02:07 PM by Thrill
"Mr. Romney now claims ObamaCare should be repealed, but his failure to explain his own role or admit any errors suggests serious flaws both in his candidacy and as a potential President."

"Mr. Romney is compromised and not credible."

"As everyone knows, the health reform Mr. Romney passed in 2006 as Massachusetts Governor was the prototype for President Obama's version and gave national health care a huge political boost."

As If his old Campaign Manager calling him a phony wasn't enough.

1. They're sore because he stopped wearing a necktie.
He's broken the corporate-image mold.

2. What Puzzles Me Is That I Think Romney Represents The Best Hope The Repugs Have.......
why would WSJ and other Repug groups want to destroy their best hope? Who are they making way for? Who do they want as their 2012 nominee?

5. They think he's damaged goods...
...not because of Romneycare, but because he's flip-flopped so much he won't be seen as credible by independents. My guess is the WSJ will go with Daniels or Huntsman.

7. I don't think he is. I think he is the one Democrats want
Edited on Thu May-12-11 08:42 AM by Thrill
He will have big trouble in states like NC, VA, and PA because he is a Mormon. And above that there are yrs and yrs of tape where he downright changes his opinion on something from one minute to the over. And he also will have big trouble connecting to the average Joe. And his long history of buying companies and getting rid of the workers. He's a stuck up rich guy.

15. Mitch Daniels or PAWlenty I suspect
They know Mitski has too many political liabilities.

They don't mind boring white guys who will play ball, like Mittens, but they want someone who is a blank slate publicly, so they can subtly regain the WH.

23. They want a clear run at 2016.
They're betting on Obama keeping on while they block most potential progress in congress. They'd rather have a BIG Republican year in 2016 and be able to put in place a radical mandate of their own than have to compromise in any way, They know that '16 will offer them a higher than average chance of that. I think they thought the same when running Dole in ’96, but 2000 ended up being closer than they'd banked on.

12. Jebby's thew one
Jeb seems to be the obvious choice to be the "Great White Hope" to unseat Obama. He's the one I'd be most afraid of.

Imagine a 3rd Bush in office. His Momma would be so proud. Guess who his running mate might be? Bachmann, maybe. Now there's a match made in Hell.

16. That last name is a liability
If GW had left office with tghe country at least in semi-good shape, the name Bush might be less toxic.

But as it is, most of the country is still suffering a massive case of Bush Fastigue.

Maybe in 2016.
