7. No... if she runs, she will campaign all the way through.
If she wins, then she will quit half way through the term.

One of the points to use if she does run is that she will quit as President.

8. SHE NEVER INTENDED ON RUNNING!!!
I have said this for a long time...I am not saying this to be mean or because I do not like her...But she is not that smart in terms of knowing how to speak on her feet when it comes to many of the complex issues we face today...Especially in debates & NON-FOX "News" press interviews. Palin is far below Bush & Bush had the advantage of running for office when there was very little "worry" about anything. Yeah, there was a very small recession but that was it!

Palin is a joke & other than many Tea Baggers & Christians who do not have the ability to know she is a joke or they simply see a fellow Christian no one else would vote for her even in the Republican Party.

I HOPE she runs but I honestly do not think she will.

10. "...she is not that smart ..." I agree completely
But she is super-egotistical. That, combined with her dimbulb grasp of reality, will compel her to run.

Edited on Sun May-15-11 08:06 PM by Honeycombe8
Of course she won't run.

Anyone who has paid close attention to Palin and her actions, since she was named to be on McCain's ticket, knows this one key thing about Palin: Show me the money.

Palin is ALL about money. Period. Fame is good...politics are good...but only because they lead to the gold at the end of the road. Books....great! They give her M-O-N-E-Y! TV? Super great...some big bucks there. Tweets? It keeps her in the news, which leads to MO' MONEY!

Remember the fracas about her spending wildly hundreds of thousands of dollars on clothes during the campaign? And how she flew back to Alaska...oops! She accidentally took all those clothes back with her! She said it was an accident. The GOP had to fly representatives up there to get the clothes back...they weren't hers.

She quit her governorship halfway through, knowing this would hinder her political prospects. But she was missing out on millions by staying governor. Decision made swiftly and apparently easily.

Show her the money. A person can make lots of money AFTER leaving the Presidency, but she knows she has a bat's chance in an ice storm of winning even the nomination, much less the election. So there's no gold for her in running for the Presidency. And it would mean she wouldn't be able to have her TV show or make all her millions in other ways while she's campaigning, which would cost her lots of $$$.

There is one exception: She COULD pretend to run for a while, since it could lead to even more money down the road. Remember, that's how Huckabee starting earning millions...after he ran w/nary a chance of winning the primary. It made him a national name, and got him a TV talk show, and a boatload of cash. But Palin's already got all that. So, I don't think she'll pretend to run, for the chance to make even more money, since it would interfere with her making money in the interim, and it might not lead to more money at the end.

No way Palin gives all that easy money up just to get
beaten up by MSM and lose to Obama. Like her not, she is
a hot ticket for speaking fees on conservative forums.

42. The Things They Carried
Made me think a bid ... Chapter 4: On the Rainy River

On O達rien痴 last full day at the Tip Top Lodge, Elroy takes him fishing on the Rainy River. During the voyage it occurs to O達rien that they must have stopped in Canadian territory耀oon after, Elroy stops the boat. O達rien stares at the shoreline of Canada, twenty yards ahead of him, and wonders what to do. Elroy pretends not to notice as O達rien bursts into tears. O達rien tells himself he will run to Canada, but he silently concludes that he will go to war because he is embarrassed not to. Elroy pulls in his line and turns the boat back toward Minnesota. The next morning, O達rien washes the breakfast dishes, leaves the two hundred dollars on the kitchen counter, and drives south to his home. He then goes off to war.

22. I dunno
I really think that she is at or near her "expiration date", politically speaking. If she does run, it will probably be a token run and she would probably wind up quitting after not really going anywhere. She was a novelty back in 2008-2010 but I think most people are tiring of her and her pet so-called "Tea Party" that latched on to her.

28. She is a publicity hound--nothing more--the actual running for president and then serving
if elected wouldn't be her cup of tea. She would do the same thing as president that she did as Governor of Alaska--proclaim victory and resign. Besides, I'm convinced she and her family have lots of secrets that a presidential campaign might bring out. Maybe deep down she also realizes she would not only lose but lose in a huge landslide.

She hates the "lamestream" media so much.. she'd probably do anything to prove them wrong. Which is what the lamestream media wants. An entire 2012 election cycle without Palin on the ballot is going to be very boring.

But, she may just be smart enough to see how much $$$ she makes by staying off of the ballot - time will tell.

Let's be serious...Palin HASN'T STOPPED RUNNING since 2008. She will obviously be one of the first dropouts when the gravy train stops (she's been bilking her supporters bank accounts for four years already.)

Of course, once the GOP has their presumptive nominee, Sarah will play wannabe "Kingmaker" behind the scenes and make that campaign think they need to grovel for her endorsement...
