WARNING: The GOP Is Already Rigging the 2012 Election
Considering the GOP's recent track record, the 2012 Presidential election will be about tactics, not issues. And while the Republican Party has embraced every form of crazy, privately they've honed a ground attack designed to cut Obama off at the knees.

It’s what do you do when you've tossed granny from the bus with gargantuan-sized cuts to Medicare; insulted every Lopez, Hernandez, and Gonzalez in the country with racist immigration reform rhetoric; all while offering tax cut goodies to billionaires as millions of Americans struggle to make ends meet.

You rig the game. Grease the courts. Raise the rims. Crush the unions and suppress the vote.

...

Voter suppression is the cynical uppercut to the union bashing body blows being delivered by the GOP. In 22 states, the GOP is advocating legislation that would make it more difficult for people to vote, especially minorities, the poor, and college students.

2012 is shaping up to be a frustrating one.

1. And who do those grannies and those Lopezes, Hernandezes
and Gonzalezes turn around and vote for because they feel insulted?

3. Good point!
And not only are the making grannies and the hispanics mad at them, they are going after unions, of which there "are" republican members, the whole middle class, teachers, firemen, police, state employees, children, those on SS, medicare, medicaid, and what they fail to realize is many republican voters are in these groups and are not going to be happy with them either! While I know many republicans would never vote for Obama, some will simply stay home and not vote at all because of what has been going on, or because they can't stand the choices they have in the republican primaries!

Republicans can still control the "nut wing" of the party with all this BS, but even some of them may figure out that they too will be affected by all the BS the republicans are trying to do, and some of them, maybe not many, may come to their senses before the next election! The country is starting to wake up to the BS from the republicans, and with the idiots they now have running for the nomination, I think they are going to be in big trouble in 2012. They may be pleasing their rich corporate backer right now, but those backers could care less what happens to them in the next election, all they want is to get their greedy hands into privatizing everything they can so they can make more money before the republicans get voted out of office.

9. It boils down to having republicans in key positions in certain states...
...like Florida, Ohio, Texas, Mi, Wi....etc. If they can steal a few key states, vote counts are irrelevant.

What matters is WHO is doing the counting.

4. This is the most important sentence: In 22 states Voter Suppression
is the uppercut to the body bashing blows being delivered'
by the union bashing body blows being delivered by the GOP.

Voter ID is being required. In Kansas you must produce Birth
Certificate or current Visa (passport).

The laws in all states are making it close to impossible for
young people to vote. How many kids are going home to vote
in the state where they were born.

All this voter ID can work harships on Hispanic and Arican American Voters.

Trying to outlaw the usual Mall Registrations.

I posted once before the Democratic Party should have workers
out right now registering and informing constituents, making
sure they are prepared.

If the Democrats wait until the last minute, game over and GOP wins
election.

The GOP have targeted Key Groups, Senior Citizens, African-American
College Students, and Hispanics. They can literally wipe out
the Democratic Party.

...if enough people get their votes surprised.

But it's not just the GOP. Look at Rhode Island.

13. I think the focus should be
What policy would have an immediate impact when the Federal government steps in, immediate policy will stop them dead in their
tracks before this gets out of arms way.

22 states is quite a lot and something must be done to stop them.

5. That may be their plan
But it doesn't have to work! There needs to be a big push at getting voters the right kind of ID before the elections take place, we have the time. While they are doing their best to crush the unions, they are also ticking off millions and millions of people, some union members, others who simply don't like the idea of not being able negotiate for better wages and working conditions. When people open their eyes and see that if republicans get their way wages will drop, benefits will vanish, and the middle class workers will also be gone, not only will the "sleeping giant" awaken, but a whole lot of angry independents and even republicans will with that giant! While some may not vote for Obama, they will stay home in protest, and that will help take things back from the lying dirt bags that took over last election when so many "democrats" stayed home because they were upset and decided to teach Obama a lesson, a lesson that hurt them instead of simply sending a so called "message" to the president!

The one thing we need to do next year is GET OUT THE VOTERS! Start now and don't wait till the last minute!

10. The Dems had a chance to fix it while they controlled the house, senate & presidency
but they opted to turn a blind eye just like 2000 & 2004.

12. When Dems win, it's 'time for healing'.
When republicans win, it's time for scorched earth.

14. Add hinky machines to voter suppression and Citizen's United and
it becomes clear that we will have to BLOW OUT this election to squeak out a victory. And we will have to do it over and over locally and Nationally.

Lopez, Hernandez, and Gonzalez don't vote. Kind of like "Machete don't text."
