Scott Brown, keepin’ it classy.

Really, this is pretty sad. It’s a Memorial Day parade, and Brown is on Warren’s home turf of Newton. The word “petulant” comes to mind.

1. Scott Brown is having a hard time
TPM: Walkback Complete: Scott Brown Now Attacks GOP Medicare Plan He Recently Praised

Within less than a month, Sen. Scott Brown (R-MA) has gone from thanking God that Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) had proposed phasing out Medicare to penning a blistering op-ed explaining why he now opposes the idea.

2. Yeah, the last two weeks have to have been his no good, very bad weeks

It is hard to believe that in two weeks:
1) The morning after OBL was killied, he told Glen Johnson coyly that he would be going to Afghanistan, but couldn’t explain until his news release. After the news release that he asked to do his two weeks training in Afghanistan got flack, he blamed the story on “someone dropping a dime”. (The Atlantic Wire called him on being that “someone” )

2) He goes everywhere showing off saying he had briefings and saw photos of a dead OBL – as if they were related — then had to admit they were not real.

3) He attacked the LWV for putting out an attack on his vote against allowing the EPA to regulate greenhouse gasses. The ad which would have been better if it it were specifically speaking of voting against the EPA working to mitigate climate change, but it was true in terms of his vote. Here. the smart move would have been to wait until others suggested it was over the top – which they did. The LWV might possibly have helped him by inoculating him against the real justified criticism of that vote.

4) Then on the Ryan budget, he actually tried to say the saying that he would "vote for it" did not mean that he would actually vote for it. In the fashion of Newt Gingrich, his team called misleading and untrue a union ad mentions his comment on the Ryan budget and asks that he NOT vote for it. I assume that his oped will stop the damage from this increasing, but there really is a stark difference here and the Ryan bill has been out since April. His position looks simply political, with little real thought behind it.

With any luck, the media may decide he was last year's one hit wonder.

5. He deserves it. His editorial is so poorly argued that it is sickening.

In addition to Rubin's criticism, let's add that he also claims that the Affordable Healthcare Act cuts funding for Medicare.

What bothers me is that so many people in the state have already stopped fighting and declared that he will win again in 2012.

6. His Affordable healthcare accusation is incredible - especially
as he then uses facts on fraud found, even though it was fraud found - and now being recaptured - to save money. He also misses that Advantage was private healthcare and its cost is not justifiable over regular medicare.

I noticed that just a week ago Menino was again out there saying Brown was unbeatable. It really seems like - for whatever reason, some Democrats seem to fear saying anything against him. (Even right before an election you are losing, your predict victory - this is more than a year before.)

Rubin questions the quality of his staff. Has he lost many people to Romney or do competent people really not like working for him? They seem as bad as he was this week - sometimes worse.
