drink with it'd be Biden. He's hilarious.

doesn't mean I think he'd be the best choice to run the country.

Lots of people wanted to have a Beer with Bush.. doesn't mean he was a good president!

8. Biden is a great guy, but.........
he couldn't get more than a handful of votes in 2008. What makes him think that it would be any different in 2016? Besides, he would be even older than Reagan was when he ran in 1980.

;-)

19. 'Any different?' Try Clinton and Obama.
Dems would be FOOLS to throw Joe Biden under the bus (but, unfortunately, it wouldn't be the first time 'they've acted like fools.)

24. Hillary and Obama won millions of votes.
Biden barely got a few thousand. I think that he is a decent man, but I doubt he could win the nomination in 2016. Even if by some fluke he did, it would be a very big stretch to assume that he could win the presidency.

My guess is it'll be his son Beau Biden - I could see Beau going all the way. He's an amazing AG here in Delaware.

22. GOP purposively did not run any against him in 2010 for fear his Dad would be in DE all the time
I kid you not.

Beau ran without an opponent in 2010. The GOP figured if they put a candidate up against Beau that his dad, VP Joe Biden, would be campaigning all the time in DE and it would hurt all the races.

Of course the GOP already shot themselves in the foot with allowing Christine O'Donnell to win - she pretty much hurt the GOP in all the races.

And Joe still made alot of campaign stops to the state. You think he wanted someone like O'Donnell to take over his old senate seat?

12. Outside of DU i doubt Most Americans Know Biden at all!!
Biden is way too quiet on matters that i doubt people even know he exists, let alone as VP.
He stands very little chance of getting much support in 2016.

The best chance for democrats in 2016 is to run another dlc type coporatist democrat such as Hillary Clinton.

14. Biden
If he decedes to run I will be for him.

Republicans often run for office In their 70's.So why not a Democrat.

Biden has been good number 2 to Obama. And we can say Biden should have been listened to on Afghanstain.

And In 2016 he would be running as sitting VP to succeed the Incumbent.Much different than In 2008.

if the tea party wins? :eyes:

I just don't get the purists. How can you look back on the past 5 months and not realize that this isn't a joke: Republicans are no longer harmless. They do a LOT of damage when they get in office. Do some research on all the major things passed in different states over the past 5 months: Abortion bills in almost every red state, anti-immigration bills giving police power they don't deserve, union busting bills, not to mention the RYAN Medicare phase out. The list goes on and on. WAKE UP!

His term ends in 2014, which gives him two years to run. He has a progressive record to run on from Maryland.

29. I'd rather see Biden than Andrew Cuomo.
The article mentions Cuomo as a possible candidate in 2016. Those of us who think Obama is too conservative would find Cuomo even further to the right. I think the same is true of Mark Warner, also mentioned by Politico. Martin O'Malley, the third mentionee, is pretty much unknown to me.

Maybe Russ Feingold can get back into the Senate and then run for President in 2016.

31. I disagree...it would waste Hillary's talents to make her VP.
I thought so in 2008 as well. The SoS post has been perfect for her.

I'd love to have her as my senator again, but unfortunately she doesn't want to run.

34. Hear, hear!!!
I can't even think of anyone else at the moment who has her credentials and who could win as many votes in 2016. But I agree with you, I think that she's done with politics. More's the pity because I think that in 2016 the Republicans will have a far stronger field of candidates than in 2012 and a very good chance of winning the presidency.

and Americans have such a "pie in the sky," "lie to me" attitude that they'd rather support a mean Ronald Reagan or Chris Christie and not a good, humble man like Joe Biden. We don't deserve him as a country; he's too good for us!!

He did more than just "vote" for Clarence Thomas. Maybe you are too young to have watched the confirmation hearings. More than anyone else, Biden is responsible for the confirmation of Thomas. He has yet to make adequate amends.

Plus, I don't know why an incumbent two-time VP always seems to be the default choice. Poppa Bush won in 1988, but that was the first time in about 150 years that happened..

Clinton because although I disagree with some of her actions, she might be the only shot of us having a female president anytime soon.

And I've always liked Dean... Grayson could be his VP if we find out a little more about him and what his true motivations are.
