1. to get nominated they must worship at the altar of the tea party
which is wholly owned and funded by corporate America.
Based on what we saw in NY-26 and in polls, that won't get them even close to elected.

4. Indeed.
You're right though about them embracing the Ryan Budget. Huntsman did it right out of the gate and I stood up and applauded. Another one bites the dust. LOL.

7. Republicans realize
they overreached and are now stepping up the bluster to defend Ryan. It's why Cheney crawled out from under his rock.

Republicans tied their credibility (gap) to the flim-flam man's plans.

8. Hopefully this is one gold plated victory issue that even the Democrats can't
turn into a defeat.

11. I AM NOT SO SURE!!
I know many hear do not want to hear this but the American People are SUCKERS FOR RIGHT WING SPIN & the more they begin to tell people via Talk Radio & FOX "News" while the MSM is AWOL...They could turn people's thinking just like they did with the Health Care Bill & Financial reform...People still think "Obamacare" is a government run health care system that will put their granny on a death panel when Obama thinks she will die!

I do not have your overwhelming confidence about the Ryan Plan...Plus, I could be a bit more nervous because I am totally disabled & could never find insurance from a private insurer under his plan. So, I can see Medicare ending & it makes me a bit nervous!

12. Not to mention his going on and on at a presser
about how we might stay in "Iran" in a reduced force if the "Iranian" government invited us, etc, etc.

I'm sure he knows better, but he did say Iran about three times in a long answer.

13. k*r Flame out
These guys must be reading motivational books by people who never did anything but write motivational
books. This is crazy strategy. The people spoke in NY's special election. They didn't have a lot of
national media information, since the media are whores. They had their own information sources and
a candidate that ran very smart and honest - Ryan will kill Medicare.
Killing Us Quietly - Ryan's Medicare Proposal by Michael Collins, April 15

House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (R-WI) proposed a Medicare plan that combines Social Darwinism and a bailout for health insurance carriers, even larger than the one provided by the president's health care reform legislation.

The specific features of the program are less important than the overall effect. In summary, Ryan proposes a plan that will starve most of those sixty-five and older of health care. Here are the numbers, based on Congressional Budget Office projections and elaborated by Dean Baker and David Rosnick (in 2011 dollars) (Center for Economic and Policy Research, April 2011]
