Palin not even a factor because of one word -- "Quitter"
Edited on Sun May-29-11 10:43 AM by Armstead
Let's face it. Sarah Palin might be delusional enough to run, but there is one backdrop both to her run for the nomination and any possibility that she might go up against Obama that she cannot escape.

She quit the governorship halfway through her term.

Even semi-conscious Republicans know that would be a fatal Achilles Heel, that would transcend ideology, personal "charisma" or any other factor they might see as an asset.

She quit the governorship halfway through her term.

That cannot be overcome. Too many people -- even if they like her -- would have as that background question: "What if she can't take the heat in Washington after a year or two? Does that mean she'll just walk away from that too?"

So she should be dismissed for what she is. A publicity and money hungry dope who lucked into a position of unearned national celebrity. Maybe she is qualified to be a tea-bag spokeswoman (although if I were a teabagger, I'd find her somewhat embarrassing) or a pseudo-pundit or a niche talk-show host.

But she is not a serious candidate.

1. But there's a two hour movie likening her to a GOP Joan of Arc being released.
Surely that will be enough to completely reverse that perception!

4. Sarah Palin is a legend in her own mind
I'm so sick of her inserting herself into others' celebrations, memorials, etc. She's so pathetic with her need to be the center of attention.

3. I dont think the Tea Baggers are into reason.....
They just know that "spending is out of control". And there is no real evidence the Tea Party is a true grassroots movement.

5. She's not running. It's all about the $$$.
The same delusional idiots who think that Rush is a climate scientist will send their money to Sarah. That's who she is, and that's ALL she is.

7. Say it ain't so! My money's on Sarah. She has all the angles figured. One dimensional chess!!

Hah! How little you know!! Sarah is literally steps ahead of you, herself, and everybody else! (Did I us up my quota of ! yet?)

Serious? Sarah is the first 100% political candidate. She has discovered that policy is irrelevant.

Maybe I'm just sentimental, but I think she will capture the ticket. You betcha!

17. She'll try for the nomination, but the Rs will take her down in the primaries
They know it's already going to be an uphill battle for them, and they'll be sure to take her out of the race early.

I'm sure of it, but I'd love to be wrong. Ideally, they won't take her out until she's done all the damage she knows how to do.

Or better yet, imagine a 2012 Palin/Paul or Palin/Bachman ticket. Could the Republicans be that self-destructive?

18. If she cannot handle Alaska how could she ever even think she can
handle national problems? What she wants to be is a symbolic leader like the Queen.

19. Bush won his second term. I would not be surprised to see Palin win.
Bush gave everyone absolute proof of how bad he sucked during his first term, and Americans still voted to keep him.

21. MSM wants her to run
For grins, I've been daily searching the main web page of CCN for "Palin" over the last several months.

I can think of only a couple of days where her name wasn't there at least once.

E.g. right now, Palin 4 matches. Obama 6.
