6. They showed President Obama talking to families
one of the families had a little boy about 7-10 the look of joy and awe on the little boys face says it all...

I don't trust many adults but children don't hide their feelings of joy or hurt....they are a true measure of what is happening in front of them.....

13. For President Obama to get that many standing ovations and cheers
and not just regular, polite applause is monumental. Joplin is an extremely red area. I can tell you the people in this area will not forget him coming and sharing their pain.

14. Whatever else might be said about our president,
he shines in situations like this because it's obvious he has a big heart, and turns his compassion into inspiration. He makes me proud, and I'm glad the people of Missouri felt some measure of comfort in his being there.

15. K&R. He connects extremely well with the people, especially the
child who looked just thrilled to see and talk to him. I hope Chris Matthews saw this and changed his attitude about Obama "not being good at" this type of thing.

19. WTF? Chris Mathews said that?
Are you shitting me? From what I have seen I don't think we have ever seen a picture of a crying child or baby around President Obama....there were plenty of Junior.

I swear Mathews is Manic...

20. He says it often, that he's "cool" and "professorial" and "doesn't seem to connect to
the people in a personal way" (paraphrased, but darn close). Every time he says that I can't believe it. He must not watch anything other than the few seconds of speeches that MSNBC covers before they cut away and say they'll "monitor it for" us. :eyes:

21. Class vs. Crass
Obama looks like class as he visits Joplin Missouri and reaches out to those who have lost everything from these tornadoes while Sarah Palin plays mini-me soldier
Shows why one is an elected official and the other is nothing more than a reality TV personality

22. Couldn't have been better
I absolutely enjoyed his speech tonight, it was all very memorable.

If I may, on a side note, say how good it's to finally be in a place with sane people. The Huff has become overwhelmed with Repubs and I'm starting to get a migraine. :-)

23. Here's an article from a local newspaper (Joplin Globe):
Edited on Mon May-30-11 12:50 AM by Art_from_Ark
When Kurt Carpenter saw President Barack Obama walking toward him Sunday on Kentucky Avenue, he could not believe his eyes.

“I had the EF-5 jitters all over again,’’ he said.

Carpenter said the president came right up to him and put his arm around him.

The Joplin resident said, “He said to me: ‘Tell me about it. Tell me your story.’ I could not believe the president was talking me.

“I kept thinking — he’s talking to ME? He’s putting his arm around ME?’’

are turning down federal aid.

25. The site that must not be named is full of **it
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2727067/posts

I am enraged that this POS even came to Missouri after 1 week of the torndado.

Now he wants to get all the attention and saying it is all about him? BS.

>>”You have lived the words of scripture: ‘We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed. We are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; cut down, but not destroyed.’”

Interesting choice for al Hussein to use because those are the words I use to tell myself that anything he does to us doesn’t matter in the end.

Words fail me as I attempt to convey my thoughts about Zero and his (fill in description of man-on-man sex act) media

Now I have to go wash, I feel dirty
